Check for gravel caught between the disc or caliper and backing plate, I get this regularly with mine, worse than any other car I've owned.

Re: Tyres again.
I'm with you all the way on this, love the car but hate the wheels, they look so good but are extremely impractical for the roads I mainly drive on. I would think you would need to fit smaller wheels to get the result you want. I've winter wheels and tyres on for the second year running and find the...

Re: Winter wheels 2014 Scirocco GT
I've run 16" with offset 38 for the last two winters and absolutely no problems.
Shod with Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D which are excellent and very quiet. DCC set to sport works nicely.
Don't forget to tell your insurance company, as with me there should be no problem and no extra cost.

Re: average mpg reading seems way off expected
Every car I've owned the computer has flattered the fuel consumption, the only way is to brim the tank, zero the milometer, run to fairly low then brim the tank again and do the sums. This helps to make it easier http://www.torquecars.com/tools/uk-mpg-calculator.php" onclick="window.open(t...

Re: New Scirocco owner, few issues.
I'm not absolutely sure but these hooks look like the ones at the back of the rear seat squab.
The squab comes out by lifting the front edge then pulling upwards and forward once the seat is loose at the front, pull hard as its quite stiff.

Re: Can't enter frozen scirocco!!!
I find luke warm water does work but will occasionaly flash freeze again (making it worse), if you don't immediately put your heaters and wipers on after applying it. You can't do this with side windows and you can end up with what now appears to be something similar to black ice on them, this is e...

Re: Can't enter frozen scirocco!!!
Hi guys, At 5am this morning I wanted to go to the gym and to my horror I found out that I could not open the diver door to enter the car as it was frozen and the windows did not drop by a few millimetres. This meant that I could not enter the vehicle and and was going no where in the freezing cold...

Re: Spilt Milk
Having split much less than a litre of milk in my old car, I would strongly advise you carry on looking for info to remove the rear seats and very other affected part that's removable, in order to clean. Bicarbonate of soda does help, but it's no cure all, and the stink that old milk leaves behind ...

Re: de-icer?
A 10 litre watering can full of luke warm water has worked for me for +50 years and never any cracked glass, even at minus 15.
Poured as slowly as possible over windscreen so the glass heats up a bit, that way it doesn't re-freeze when you move off.

Re: Dashboard lights
Which ever way VW try to explain it, it's a thoroughly bad, thoughtless and confusing feature to inflict on such an otherwise brilliant car. Best work around I've found is to use lights on manual. The light switch along with the door mirror switch are in my opinion an ergonomic disaster and designed...

Re: Pzero tyres Odd Difference
Any ideas? Must be some tyre Gurus around :D Isn't a serious issue. Well I don't think so anyway... Just curious to why it should be different... I would email Pirelli about it contactcentertyres.uk@pirelli.com They were very helpful to me when I had a tyre query. You will need to give them...

Re: Fuel consumption
Hi, Being a newbie this is probably a stupid question but here goes. Does it have an effect on fuel consumption if I select different settings on the suspension switch on my 140 R Drive, ie comfort, normal or sport. Thanks. Interesting question, I use comfort a lot as the roads in these parts are p...

Re: Touch Up Paint Brush Cleaner
I have purchased a fine artists brush to paint some stone chips as I always think the brush in the touch up bottles is too big. My question is what should I use to clean the brush? In days gone by I used to use cellulose thinners but paints are different these days. If you catch it quick before it ...

Re: paint chip
It does sound worrying if you've never scraped paint off glass before but I've done it loads of times, glass is harder than steel and won't leave a mark if everything is clean. Just don't cut yourself!
