Re: Admiral insurance grrrrr
Avoid Elephant like the plague - they were total bandits when I was with them. My lawfully parked, unattended car (a 2 week old Golf GT Sport 170 TDI) was clipped by a bus, which caused £6000 worth of damage. As there was not a hint of blame on my part, the bus company paid up for everything. So I ...

Re: Boot Lid resprayed when new.. help
I would suggest you let the process just take its course. Let them respray it. VW have put their hands up and acknowledged the repair was authorised by themselves. They've acknowledged its a crap job, and they will put it right. It will be perfect, and will have no effect come re sale time. Yes, you...

Off the top of my head and without any knowledge of this engine, I would take a guess at a loose or split turbo hose.....

Re: DSG and Hill start - Help!
ALl you need to remember is not to leave it in D with the handbrake on and foot off the brake if you're stopped in traffic. Putting your foot on the brake disengages the clutch, so you won't wear it. Lifting your foot off the brake starts the clutch engaging. If you leave it in D, foot off brake wit...

Re: Bumper colour, is it different to the rest of the car???
I noticed this on my Eos, which was 'silver essence'. The c pillars were a slightly different shade of silver. I thought about getting it looked at, but came to the conclusion that the chances are it would come back exactly the same. Obviously if you're not happy with the standard of the paint finis...

I really wouldnt worry about differences in trim and equipment for those of us that have already got the 'roc. It was always going to happen that they make year on year changes. You can't control whats going to happen. Just go and enjoy it!!!!!!!!

Re: Climatic semi-automatic
You can control the temperature its just that its via an analogue dial rather than a digital display. Simple air con is either on or off. With simple air con, you can control the mix of hot and cold air via the rotary dial, and turn the compressor on and off via the on/off button. Exactly the same ...

Re: Climatic semi-automatic
It doesnt actually mean anything. It's just the same as standard air con. You can't control the temperature in the cabin, in the same way as climate control will keep the temprature constant. Its just standard air con the same as standard air con in any other car. With a gimmicky name.............

Re: Tom Tom
I use a tom tom v4. in my 'roc. I bought one of those plastic mounting discs you can sucker onto, and stuck the disc on the hidden surface directly above the 12v inlet storage tray just ahead of the gear lever. you can then sucker the tom tom to this (the v4 has the new style mount so there is room ...

Is it? The steering wheel still uses the left paddle for down shifts, right paddle for upshifts, surely?

DSG Gear Display
Does anyone find it odd that the manual gear display for DSG runs 654321 across the MFD? Surely it should display 123456? Because you use the right hand paddle for up shifting, wouldn't it make more sense to 'pull' the numbers from left to right, and then 'pull' them from right to left when changing...

My first VAG car was my 08 VW Eos. Which broke my heart with the roof leaks.
After a massive with the dealership, my broken heart is now mended, and coloured Rising Blue
