Seat Cover Query
Does anyone know where I can get a set of 4 seat covers for the Roc?
Any old rubbish will do and the cheaper the better - as long as they fit.
My Roc (with leather seats) goes into production next week and is due around mid April.
Today I got a call from my dad in Ireland telling me that he'll be over for a 3 week visit around that time, and due to circumstances that I won't bore you with here, asked if I could look after our family dog for the three weeks until he goes back.
She (Flo) is only a short haired Jack Russell and a miniature one at that but she is 14 now and gets a little bit incontinent when she gets excited (which is basically whenever she thinks we are off to the fields to chase the ball).
I'll be taking her on an 8 mile round trip each day to her favorite field that she used to get walked in before they moved to Ireland so there will be ample opportunity for her to "get excited".
I'm actually looking forward to having her as she's a real character and great fun, but at the same time really feeling nervous for the state of my Roc interior.
Anyway, any info on seat covers would be much appreciated.
I've never bought them before.
Are there perhaps universal fitting ones that you get from Halfords or somewhere?
Or maybe another VW has similar shaped seats that a specific cover fits?
Come to think of it, even a set of those clear polythene ones that service engineers put over the drivers seat when they're working on a car might do the job - if they fit over the rear seats too.
Anyone know where I can get them?
Whatever, they'll only be on for 3 weeks.
By the way, I googled "car seat covers" and found a company that did a VW range including a Scirocco but I'm pretty sure they were for the original Scirocco as the rear seat cover was a one piece that looked like it covered a triple seat.

Re: Seat Cover Query
Perhaps you should even consider using a big piece of plastic sheeting tucked in around the back seats? Dog incontinence on the roc's fitted carpets would be pretty upsetting too if it were my car!
How about this?

Fantastic product!!!!! I'll be buying one of those at the end of the month!! I dont even put pets in the back of the car but it'll protect the interior properly from any chance of a spillage when food shopping etc

Not only will it keep the boot clean and dry but offers a bit of padding to keep the dog comfortable too.
The Hatchbag costs a few quid but is probably no dearer than a set of cheap seat covers that I'd never use again and it would continue to protect against other spillages.
Unless I see something better within the next couple of weeks I'll order one and when the time comes will post a picture of Flo sitting in it.
I still can't believe that my first thought when I found the dog was was arriving at the same time as the Roc was "maybe it would be a good thing if the Roc was delayed a couple of weeks. Then I could just bung some old sheets over the seats of my old (soon to be traded) Poogeot 306 XSi and drive her around care free".
What the hell was I thinking? Hardly a woken hour has passed since I decided to order that I haven't thought about the Rocs arrival at least once. Nothing must delay it a minute longer than necessary.
I put it down to a (very brief) moment of temporary insanity.
Nice colour choice by the way adamj. We fans of the Pewter are in a small minority.

Aldi do a pair of seat covers for £5, they do some chavvy colour schemes but also do all black ones albeit with a small logo which actually don't look too bad. I think they are polyester / waterproof. If it's a short term thing this might be a cheap solution? Can spend the money you save on Metal Pedals or Sill protectors

Re: Seat Cover Query
As promised, some pics of my final solution - A Hatchbag Boot Liner (and Flo).
Anyway I needn't have worried as she seems quite comfortable in there.
I added her padded dog rug (bought separately) and a couple of squeaky toys and she's as happy as Larry.
The Hatchbag is a good product and fits the boot perfectly, though I've noticed from the pics that I have it slightly misaligned in the back right corner. Easy enough to remedy though. Just unfasten the Velcro strips from the carpet and straighten it out.
One happy doggy. Problem solved.
Oh yes and of coarse one of the vehicle she was sitting in.... Within a couple of weeks I plan to give her a good wash and polish and take some better pics. (that's the car not the dog).
When I first put her in there I was really concerned that she would hate sitting in the boot (all be it with the shelf removed) as she used to have the freedom to clamber all over the seats of my old Peugeot.Anyway I needn't have worried as she seems quite comfortable in there.

I will have a word with my Dad, I am sure they can do something (making sure those who have ordered don't loose out)andy wrote:yadamj you should see if we can get a Central discount as that looks a seriously good productadamj wrote:Really is a good product the Hatchbag isn't it.

The liners are made to order in a UK factory so I think that the more of the same model they have at a time the easier it is as they can be cut together so if there is a lot interest I am sure the discount would be more. It would be nice for my Dad too as the designer was having a go at him for wasting time measuring my Roc for the prototype as she said no one who has a Roc would want a boot liner... Interestingly the Golf mark V is the current best seller.
I know I am expected to say it - but it is a really good product especially for the price, and I don't even have a dog!

Yeah I am sure they can, they have shipped to the USA and UAE so I am sure Norway wouldn't be a problem, postage would cost a bit more. Can ask for a shipping cost when my Dad's back next week if you want.Nice product! Do you know if they can ship to Norway too?
