Re: Reverse bulbs/BCM - Urgent advice/opinion needed!
Are they identical wiring plugs both sides? If so take both light units off the car and swap left to right. If the faults stay on the same side then its a wiring / control issue. If the fault swaps sides then it's a light unit issue. Have you done a VCDS scan? I think that would tell you if it was a...

Re: Car unlocking itself
Try locking it without the inerior protection on. If it stay's locked without alarming that will point at the interior sensor being the culprit. Forget how you do this, there might be a button on the drivers b pillar, or you press a different sequence on the fob. The manual will describe it.

Thanks for posting that. Will need some serious DIY wiring as these heated front screens intended for rallying need some serious ampage. I seem to recall 40A for each side from previous discussions.

Re: Petrol going down so quick like there is a leak!!
Bit of lateral thinking….. Faulty fuel gauge? Fuel has to be somewhere. Either still in the tank (failed sender as above), leaking onto the ground which you would see or going into the engine perhaps as you suggest via failed hpfp or injectors. Lets work it out, 20 miles should use about 4 litres, q...

Re: DAB and CarPlay replacement
This guy seems to like his new toy, no mention of dab but it certainly has wireless car play. I'd forgotten what RDS is and thought it might be Chinese pidgin for DAB but google reminds me it's something FM related. https://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=28418" onclick...

Re: Head Unit upgrade to DAB a lazy way
The various coax cables, DAB, phone aerial, GPS, FM all have colour coded FAKRA sockets. DAB is blue. They all appear to have different "keys" so you can only plug the blue cable into the right blue socket. So you won't be able to plug the FM cable into DAB socket without some tomfoolery. ...

Re: Sat Nav map location change
When earlier posts have reported similar it’s been the aerial at fault. The aerial is in the roof beesting. Then theres a signal splitter that takes the signal from the roof aerial and splits it into different signals, something like fm, dab, gsm and gps. A number of separate colour coded cables tak...

Re: Facelift Reversing camera
Under the bumper. I think the golf solution where the badge flips up to reveal the camera was very elegant but sadly not adopted on the facelift scirocco. Perhaps it would have been on the next golf 7 based scirocco if it had ever happened.

Re: Just bought a 2010 1.4TSI 123,000miles Need advise.
Do a search on the bonnet release issue. You can remove the front right (assuming uk car) wheel and arch liner to get at the release cable. Then you can pull it with a pair of pliers or something forget the details but a search will find it.

Don't know what you mean by rain tray? Under the scuttle where the wipers sit? Where are you buying your waterproof microsquirt from? The page i looked at says it is splashproof and not suitable for mounting in the engine bay. They recommend in the cabin. They say you can make it waterproof with som...

Fair bet no 1 on the black is 12v or earth. Why else would one side of the horn switch connect to the airbag wiring? If you can find the horn check the two terminals. One will be connected to no 4 on the black. If the other side is 12v then no 1 on the black is probably earth. If the other side is e...

Re: How to change the digital speedometer from kmh to mph?
By law you have to have mph and kph on display. Most cars have mph on the speedo and also kph in little letters on an inner ring. Scirocco has mph on the speedo but no kph. They meet the law by having kph on the digital. In other countries Scirocco has kph on the speedo and mph on the digital. So co...

A shock absorber is a very complex device with many moving parts, seals, pressure parts. It has complex valving within a small piston. It has oil and a gas pressurisation. You need to design it, build it to a high degree of precision, test it, ship it round the world, store it, advertise and sell it...
