Re: Emissions compensation legal action
The Harcus Sinclair and Slater and Gordon VW Emissions Action Group asks you to agree with one of the following before you can join it: "I confirm that had I known my vehicle: 1. was not compliant with the relevant European emissions regulations and therefore should not have been registered and...

No Viper Green is a game changer for me. After all, how else do you find your Rocco in a car park ?

Re: Cigarette lighter power after ignition off
I had a look at the following page after reading about the Golf owner's success with changing fuses. Unfortunately, I can see no equivalent fuse socket for Roccos. The current fuse appears to be SC 42 but that's just by reading and I've not tried any changes for real: file:///C:/Users/Chris.SOLAR/Do...

Re: Cigarette lighter power after ignition off
I wish it was user option to be able to leave the 12 Volt sockets on after the key is taken out. I often want to leave a phone charging for an hour or two when parked. The boot one would be ideal as it's all out of sight there.

Re: Catalytic Converter Warning Light
Follow up; my Cat converter light came back on so it's back to the dealers. Weirdly the low pressure tyre warning light also came on 10 minutes later and yet the tyre pressure were fine when measured with gauge. That sequence has repeated itself twice.

Re: DSG Oil Leak
Dealer reporting slight leak on my gearbox, warranty issue @ 20 K miles/18 months and expected 2 days off the road, more if parts not in stock. Part number 03L 103171A plus 6 bolts which maybe for an oil seal rather than gasket ? Anyhow I'm getting a second dealer opinion before engaging the work bu...

Re: Catalytic Converter Warning Light
Had same issue last week but mine is a 2.0 TDI @ 20 k miles. Dealer reset the Exhaust Gas Re-circulation (EGR) and the (stored) fault cleared and said if light returns then replace EGR under warranty. Re: Best tyres and price for 19
Another PZero with side wall damage. another + £200- bill. What's real annoying this time is the tyre pressure indicator did not show on the dashboard and I so I ended up driving off before I found out.

Re: SatNav and Phone Holder
Anyone any experience with the Brodit range of air vent/dash phone holders for Sciroccos. More expensive but hopefully well built ? http://www.brodit.com/compareProduct.html?a1=653359&a2=653882" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Cheaper air vent phone holders are of course ...

Re: Electric seat has high injury risk - beware !
Yes but if you are leaning in through the narrow gap to the rear to grab a package and touch the switch with your body then, if you are not expecting it, you can easily get trapped without realising what is causing the seat to be moving. This relates to the seat being upright with a gap behind big e...

Electric seat has high injury risk - beware !
Our new Rocco came with an electric switch on the top of the driver's seat which allows it to move backwards and forwards to allow people to enter the rear. Today one of the car unfamiliar users accidentally caught this switch and became trapped as the seat moved backwards as he leaned into the back...

Re: Best tyres and price for 19
One 600 mile journey, two potholes and two more PZs with sidewall damage have to be scrapped. Mid journey so couldn't shop around, bill £ 500- at VW dealer. I made the point that a Rocco with 19" and PZs may no longer be fit for purpose for UK roads which they dodged the answer to but I believe...

Re: Best tyres and price for 19
I've remained with the PZero as originally fitted from new as they stick to the road like glue. They also are costing me @ £ 200 fitted with the VAT which might be OK given normal wear and tear but I've suffered about five side-wall punctures from I suspect potholes. I'm guessing this is not likely ...

Re: What's a good way to value my Rocco ?
The Auto Trader one is nice as it asks all the questions about the factory fitted options. Also give range between private and dealer prices. Cost £ 4- for the valuation which they don't tell you until the end of the questions but I coughed it as this feels fairly authoritative. Already given three ...

Going in soon for a part-ex on my Rocco for a new one. Any thoughts on favourite ways to cross-reference their part-ex offer ?

Re: Running costs of my Rocco
To confirm my figures at the top of this thread have no finance included as it was bought from cash reserves of the business. If we were comparing against say catching the train, bus or taxis then we'd include the opportunity loss of the capital that we’d might have otherwise invested in as well as ...

Running costs of my Rocco
Coming up to about 1.7 years of ownership and here are the numbers:
27,205 mileage Aug 2012
£ 3360 cost of fuel
£ 0.58 cost per mile with depreciation (estimate of current value)
£ 0.21 cost per mile with no depreciation
£ 0.12 cost per mile fuel only
It's a business car so no VAT in figures.
