Re: Running costs of my Rocco
I did 34698 miles in almost 3 years and in my case total cost with depreciation, financing, insurance, service, petrol and all other associated cost was:
£0.78 per mile
5920.20 spent on petrol.
3 years ago I saved following information:
"What Car quotes the overall 3 year running costs as: 1.4 TSI 160 - 52.8 ppm, 2.0 TSI - 61.7 ppm and the R - 73.4 ppm"
So mine was 2.0TSI and my costs where higher than 61.7ppm but I assume it didn't include cost of financing.

Re: Running costs of my Rocco
I'm at 21 months after having bought second hand (a 9 month old 2.0 TSi). I do very few miles, 11951 since I bought it, and rarely do motorway journeys so my mpg isn't brilliant. Note there is no finance on my beastie, I own it outright. My numbers are:
Fuel: 20.45 ppm
Non-fuel: 18.01 ppm which covers service, insurance, tax, extra maint, consumables, tyres, added extras (Fiscon)
So effectively 38ppm overall excluding depreciation (and I don't know how much it's lost!)
EDIT: After a run around Autotrader I've probably lost c5k which on my mileage would be c.41ppm so revised total INCL Depreciation is 79 ppm.

Re: Running costs of my Rocco
To confirm my figures at the top of this thread have no finance included as it was bought from cash reserves of the business. If we were comparing against say catching the train, bus or taxis then we'd include the opportunity loss of the capital that we’d might have otherwise invested in as well as allowing for inflation/RPI.
