Re: Antenna removal

Thanks for this guide, certainly helped with the pillar plastics removel steps. I snapped the top of the original dummy shark fin off when the garage door decided to stop halfway up whilst backing out - luckily the force did not damage the roof metal; the plastic snapped before it could distort the ...

Re: Latest Premium Bluetooth Module

Hey dimexi, Not at home at the moment, will be back in a few days. Don't think I took photos, but will look. 1) I can't recall exactly, but remember feeding the mic end of the wire through the back of the top center console, from the windscreen side - it was a case of prying the back of the console ...

Re: Latest Premium Bluetooth Module

Hey dimexi, I used some plastic trim tools to pry the roof trim slightly open and wedged in my mic wire - I didn't "feed" it through, but rather started with the mic wire from the top console, guessed the approximate positioning/length, then worked it under the roof liner on the windscreen...

Re: RNS510 DVD Help

Yep, works great - you just need to ensure the DVD you make is in the proper DVD format i.e. you can't just burn an mkv/avi/xvid file to a blank DVD disc then watch it - anything other than the DVD VOB format must be converted and burned to DVD with something like Nero (or any other DVD-making softw...

Re: New Rocco owner, few questions

Welcome Tyranical! Re the lights - I fitted the H7 Philips X-Treme Visions as the main beam and H7 Philips Blue Visions as the dipped beam/DRLs in mine. They are a certainly a whiter light than the oem's and imo give plenty of illumination for night driving. Had them in since I got the car and they'...

Re: AUTO LIGHTS

I think this is the standard setting - you need VCDS to change the setting so that the "0" is everything off. Haven't tried it myself with VCDS, but I'm sure others have.

Re: RCD510 SD card slot size

AFAIK the standard SD card you need is 32mm × 24mm - sounds like you got the mini-SD or micro-SD?

Very easy to do it yourself - literally plug and play; just need access to VCDS to code correctly.

Re: Don't have hands free phone kit - What are the alternati

I would retrofit the VW OEM unit - an easy afternoon job and it seems to work with all phones now. If you have the white MFD then the 7P6035730C should work. Did mine a number of months back and it works a treat with my iPhone and my wife's Sammy. I got the VW RNS 510 9W7 UHV/RSAP/AD2P (7P6035730C) ...

I also like the low profile and the unobtrusiveness - use mine daily and no problems to date; so far so good - my phone on one and my work's trip log tracker on the other ;)
