RNS 510 upgrade

Post by Docwise80 »

Hi all,

Scirocco newbie - apologies if this in in the wrong forum. I'm picking up my second hand Scirocco on Thursday (is a 2010 2.0 GT TSI). It has the default radio/CD player installed; I've read that the RNS 510 is well worth the upgrade and in particular the 30gb hard drive for music appeals. Just wondering how feasible it is to have this done? Am a complete novice so would need a garage to do the installation, I'm based in Exeter, does anyone know of somewhere in the vicinity that offers this service?

Many thanks,
Simon

Very easy to do it yourself - literally plug and play; just need access to VCDS to code correctly.

pry off the surround with an old credit card, behind there are four Torx 20 screws. Easy as pie.

IMPORTANT:
When You buy a used / spare-part RNS 510, remember to get the four digit unlock code.
It must be entered if the RNS 510 is moved from one vehicle to another.
