DSG judder question
I sometimes experience the dreaded judder when moving off; It appears to happen more often when the car has heated up, oil temp around 90s , but not always. My dealer did a gearbox software update in December last year and said they couldnt find any fault but then it doesn't happen all the time. My ...

Re: New Scirocco owner, few issues.
Bit weird for these to rust. Don't want to cause panic but do you know the history of the car? Has water got into the boot somehow

Re: Noisy air con and not cold
Had Halfords regas the system today; They said it was reading 20 degrees at first but after regas its now 7 degrees so bit of a change!! They also said the "old" gas they extracted was about half the required amount required to operate correctly. They also said they had added a coloured di...

Noisy air con and not cold
My air con is quite noisy and not very cold. It was regassed about 18 months ago. Is this normal. How often should the gas need topped up?

Re: service schedule question
I too had poor service and attitude from A Clark Crow Rd hence I thought I'd try Linwood. They were much better and much more friendly. I know Ingrams but a little too far to travel from Glasgow North

service schedule question
My service book tells me my second service (long life) is due in July or at 32k miles. I have done only 21k to date but my onboard computer says service is due now. VW customer care tell me to go by the car readout ie do the service now but my dealer says I should wait till July as shown on the serv...

Re: BUYING ADVICE NEEDED - 1.4 122bhp or 160bhp??
Go for the 160. I ve got one, a DSG and love it. No problems, 3 years old this January. No issues. Like anything else just treat it with respect and it will repay you with loyal service

Re: Excessive front tyre wear
Thanks guys, I do mostly town driving so not great for mileage on tyres (or petrol !)
I'll maybe do the front to rear change to even out the wear.

Excessive front tyre wear
Been looking through the forum about this and my problem is perhaps not alone.
Done just over 14k in 2 years and my front tyres are about 3mm. The rears are 5/6mm. Will need to replace early next year.
I'm not heavy footed and check pressures regularly. Wear seems a bit excessive to me

Go for anthracite powder coat wheels. I did and they look great. Not black as too common

Re: Air Con not working
Yea, I thought it a bit off too that they charged for the regas. Need to wait and see if that's all it was needing. Clarks have a real monopoly here in Glasgow area and are the only vw dealer nearby. Not impressed by them or the attitude of their service manager. Not be rushing back unless forced to...

Re: Air Con not working
First service done today for 190 quid. They told me the gas just needed a recharge for the "charge " of 60 pounds. I thought that a little strange for such a new car but Arnold Clarks assured me all was fine with no leaks and nothing to worry about. Well, we will see over the next few days...

Air Con not working
Anyone had any problems with the air con? Only done 11500 miles in 18 months and its stopped chucking out cold air. I noticed a bit of a whine from the compressor recently that never used to be there, could that be the cause or may needs a regas but surely my car is too new for that? First long life...

Yip. Had the same thing a few times, it clears itself after a few turns of the switch. Bit weird.
