Re: Scirocco Facelift 2013 - your ideas please..

I'm sure technologically, VW will move the game on, so won't say anything in relation to that. Three things I'd change: 1) Do a bit more to make the interior feel special (more interesting features like the door grab handles won't go amiss) 2) Do something about the piece of mesh that pulls over the...

(If you do not live in the EU) you should be able to turn them off through an option in the MFD.

I've had this on my old Golf, which was on Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrics. I think the only thing you can do is buy new tyres!

Optical distortion on the left side of the windscreen

Since the car was new, I've noticed optical distortion on the lower left corner of the windscreen. As a result, when you're driving along, lines by the left side of the road can actually look a bit wavy as I drive past... I think the best description I can give is that it looks like heat waves comin...

I believe this to be a characteristic of direct injection engines. My 2.0 TSI can sound like a diesel, but not as much the current E90 BMW 320i!

Re: A bit of a daft question ?

I'd wager a guess that all the 1.4s come with the felt cover and all the 2.0s come with the plastic. Don't know what the real reason for that is though, and of course I'm sure there is no tangible benefit to having one over the either. My old Golf GT 1.4 170 had a felt cover, and when I was at the s...

Re: Does LAUNCH control exist

Launch control tis in the R supplemental manual called exactly that launch control... I'd be surprised if VW would document a feature only to apply an undocumented limit on usage before warranty invalidation. A documented feature must be fit for the documented purpose, can't see how three uses woul...

Re: RCD 510 MDI iPod Issues

I currently use an 80GB Ipod classic on my MDI with the RNS-510, and I've not had any of the problems you've encountered. The only issues I've had are that sometimes the interface gets slow, which can end up with the Ipod freezing and requiring a re-start. I think it could be a problem with your Ipo...

Re: 1.4 tsi twincharger turbo pull

I used to have a Golf GT 170, and as the car became older, it definitely started to pull harder in the turbo range than in the supercharger range, although not very noticeably so. I did test the Scirocco 160 while I was considering my present car, and I found that in comparison to the same engine in...

Re: Creaking suspension on new Scirocco in warm weather

I had rear boot creaking noise thinking it was the change in the suspension fitting, however it turned out to be loose boot, so they stuck two what I can only describe as sticky foam pieces in each side of the boot (very small) and now the boot doesn't vibrate when driving along and hitting pot hol...

I haven't tested it but doesn't the ipod list things based on what you had itunes set up to do, ie listed alphabetically by artist or title etc? Yup the iPod does, and so does my RNS, however because I can't scroll through a list of artists within the playlist (I can only scroll through a list of s...

Re: ipod search function

Playlists don't cost you any space. You could make groups of alphabetical smart playlists (such as artist begins with A, artist beings with B) and you can group those, so you could split the alphabet in to quarters to group the bands in to smaller playlists. I tried this, but the problem is that th...
