Re: Front wheel camber

Camber adjustment is only possible by moving the front subframe. Officially that means all the stretch bolts should be replaced, which is a pain. I don't think camber is ultra critical unless it's wildly out. More likely caused by a combination of camber and tracking.

Re: Weird window problem - any thoughts

Looks like the dealer has distorted something whilst it was being serviced. Maybe they shut the door with something obstructing it?
Hopefully they will come clean. Be interested to see what they say.

Re: New Wipers

I got some bosch replacements which at first glance seemed fine. In use though they squealed like mad. On looking carefully I noticed that they were slightly loose on the arms and were tiliting backwards and forwards as the sweep direction changed. I bought some genuine ones and you could see (and h...

Re: Electric window height adjustment

Have you tried resetting the window positions? Do the following: - Sit in the car with the doors closed - Switch the ignition on - Open the window a few inches - Close the window with the switch all the way in one go and without letting go of the switch continue to hold in the "Up" positio...

MMI Version, Cheap Bluetooth

I have a 2009 2.0TSI (Red Dash) with RCD510 head unit. I'm looking to get a cheap bluetooth adapter which plugs in to the MMI port in the armrest. I'm really only interested in being able to stream from my spotify account, not bothered about phone calls or being able to use the steering wheel button...

Re: TPMS retrofit cable too short?

Could be because the button was moved from in front of the gear lever to inside the glovebox so would be a different length.

If that's correct then it's very badly designed.

Re: 4Month Old Roc GT Crashed

If it was me I'd hope it was written off rather than repaired and then get a new replacement (if that's what your insurance provides - which most do).

Re: Help - My Emissions Are High

Cheers for that Skippy, I'm thinking the same as you; give it a few decent runs and see if that helps. Life's too short to queue for fuel though! It's not just doing really short journeys (typically around 30 miles) but maybe a good long run to get the cat hot for a while will help. I've agreed with...

Help - My Emissions Are High

I have a 2 litre petrol 200PS Scirocco (CAW engine code, which is EURO-5 compliant I believe). I've had it from new. It’s completely standard and only done 22000 miles. Had a service and MoT today at the main dealers and initially it failed the emissions test "Exhaust emissions Lambda reading a...

My car is the same age and spec (no satnav) as yours and I've had it from new. It has Dynaudio but I just get the "Welcome To Volkswagen" splash screen.

Re: 58 2.0 tsi timing chain

Thanks for clearing up the belt or chain issue Bob / Skippy. The early magazine articles definitely stated it was the MK5 Golf engine, so that's what I based my comment on. One interesting point though - at the last service the dealer told me that the cam belt would need to be changed next time!!!

Re: 58 2.0 tsi timing chain

I believe a 2.0tsi engine of this vintage (ie.200PS/197BHP) has belt driven cams rather than chain. The 210PS/207BHP has a chain.
