It saddens me to say that I have just sold my scirocco after a catalogue of disasters.. At 2.5 years old (just out of warranty), I had to replace the throttle valve. A few months later, it was the flywheel and clutch... At 3 years old, the speakers on the right side stopped working and most recently...

Can anyone advise me on why the fuel economy has dropped on my 2.0 TDI?
I had a new flywheel/clutch put in about 2 months ago. Car seems to be
running fine, no strange noises or shuddering, but I'm only getting 800km per
tank now whereas I used to get 1050km.

Just wondered if anyone has had clutch trouble? I have a July 2009 registered 2.0TDI 140bhp with 106,000km on the clock, couldn't get it into gear at all today when about to go on motorway, looks like a clutch issue. Awaiting diagnostics, have already had to replace a throttle valve last year (€550)...

None of those 700 (other than mine) seem to be located in the West! Am repeatedly asked whether I am driving some 'weird type of Golf'...!

Update on misbehaving engine... 2.0TDI 140bhp bought new in July 2009 Has been 'mis-firing' on and off over last 6 months but no associated warning lights until yesterday, when the Engine Management System light started flashing slowly on the dash, along with mis-firing. Got it to diagnostics in VW ...

Hoping to get it to garage over next few days so will update you if it's anything too serious!...

Regularly serviced, has driven 85,000km (on dodgy Irish roads) so far without any problems at all. Over last 2 weeks, have had 3 episodes all of a sudden when engine seems to 'hold back...
