VW scirocco, my first and last VW...
It saddens me to say that I have just sold my scirocco after a catalogue of disasters.. At 2.5 years old (just out of warranty), I had to replace the throttle valve. A few months later, it was the flywheel and clutch... At 3 years old, the speakers on the right side stopped working and most recently...

Reduction in fuel economy
Can anyone advise me on why the fuel economy has dropped on my 2.0 TDI?
I had a new flywheel/clutch put in about 2 months ago. Car seems to be
running fine, no strange noises or shuddering, but I'm only getting 800km per
tank now whereas I used to get 1050km.
Thanks

Cracked Pressure Plate
An update to my clutch failure problem in a July 2009 registered 2.0TDI 140bhp Scirocco with 106,000km on clock.. Told today that the pressure plate is cracked, and will need new flywheel and pressure plate, to the tune of €1100 (including parts/VAT/labour). Was also told that this is a common probl...

Clutch failure
Just wondered if anyone has had clutch trouble? I have a July 2009 registered 2.0TDI 140bhp with 106,000km on the clock, couldn't get it into gear at all today when about to go on motorway, looks like a clutch issue. Awaiting diagnostics, have already had to replace a throttle valve last year (€550)...

Re: scirocco drivers
None of those 700 (other than mine) seem to be located in the West! Am repeatedly asked whether I am driving some 'weird type of Golf'...!

Re: Engine misbehaving...
Update on misbehaving engine... 2.0TDI 140bhp bought new in July 2009 Has been 'mis-firing' on and off over last 6 months but no associated warning lights until yesterday, when the Engine Management System light started flashing slowly on the dash, along with mis-firing. Got it to diagnostics in VW ...

Re: Engine misbehaving...
Thanks for your advice about the engine. It's a different problem to that strange sensation after cresting a hill which I noticed after buying it first and driving up and down the many hills near where I live! The current problem seems to be something like the engine 'missing' from time to time, if ...

Engine misbehaving... 122PS
Wonder if anyone can help me out with diagnostics? I have a 2.0 TDI 140bhp manual which I bought new in July 2008. Regularly serviced, has driven 85,000km (on dodgy Irish roads) so far without any problems at all. Over last 2 weeks, have had 3 episodes all of a sudden when engine seems to 'hold back...

Re: Your 1st winter as a Scirocco owner
I'm sure many have tried (but not owned up to it) but unfortunately being of female gender is a significant disadvantage to this quick-fix...!Deft wrote:Who will be the first Scirocco owner to urinate on the door to get it open?

Re: Your 1st winter as a Scirocco owner
This is my second winter as a Scirocco owner and am being driven crazy (yet again) by the daftness of the window-dropping design... Trying to get into the car after a day at work and no access to warm water to defrost the window seals is very frustrating..Have to unlock the boot only to then get the...
