You don't need a VAGCOM to activate the auto-lock function on your car it can be done in the settings menu on the Multi Function Display.

It does sound as though something is not right. Even if you've not fully run the car in you should not be experiencing that sort of performance loss nearly 4 seconds off the pace 0-60 is a very long time! First light on the left puts the air flow direction on to auto i.e which air vents are used, press it again then then fan speed also goes in to auto. Essentially the second setting is full climate control.
