As all other indicators are OK, look at the left hand mirror indicating unit. Only two wires from the Door Controller, black with blue strip and yellow to the amber illuminating LED strip sandwiched in the door mirror unit.

If it is not that then it will get expensive as its all electronic controllers. Door Controller - 52 to Central Electronics - 09 to Steering Column Controller - 16. So VCDS may be useful to look if there are any fault codes in any of the 3 controllers

Plenty of topics on "mirror" + "indicator" in the search for removing the coloured mirror cap and internals. Not a 2 minutes job.

Ok, been to my local VW dealer and booked in for next week, asked would i have to pay and he said only if lens is cracked, so i take a look and indeed the lens (led) is cracked FFS only had the car a few days it definitely wasn't me but I'm sure i wont be able to convince them of that, how much am i looking at should i have to pay?

think I only paid about £20 for mine from VW dealer and it was pretty straight forward to replace too. It comes as a unit including the LEDs.
Rocc on!
