Re: What Transmission Option would you have?

I also have run DSG for the past 2.5 years, having all manual previously. i'd agree with Mickwillow on the versatility, however I do sometimes yearn for the feel of a stick in my left hand :eyepop:

Re: Chip adivce...

I've spoken to a local reputable bodyshop, and they've said about £150 ex vat for a full panel respray and blend. Pretty good price to say, baring in mind the cost, might just re-spray the whole car in Firespark red :vibes:

Chip adivce...

Well it had to happen, I've done nearly 7000 miles in my car and not got a single mark on her, then typical tonight a cement truck was trying to pull out of building works and halfway in the road. I stopped to let them out only to my detriment! Not half a mile up the road, a cement stone bounced off...

Re: Sat-Nav all but the last two postcodes.

Nope, the Nav can only do 4 digit postcodes. It is a bit poor to say that TomTom units and many other portables can, which cost a fraction of the price compared to an RNS-510

Re: Getting scratches out?

You could try some of Meguairs new swirl x product before going the full detailing route. Their Scratch x product works well on scratches.

Re: I mostly leave my ACC in ..

I like sport mode, but it does hold onto the revs a bit too long.. your way past the optimal change limit and sounds like it's trying to be a VTEC :eyepop: I found out how good the suspension is the other night, a bit too brisk upto a roundabout, and i just had to be commited! went round like it was...

Sir-Rocco, you've obviosly never hammered it down the A1 on a sunday morning, Durham police seem to appear out of thin air, in either their souped up BMW Tourer, or Volvo S60 T5, its all very well when you can see them comming, as i could in my GTI, and slow to a lawful speed, but with the roc im g...

Re: Design foibles

I agree there are a few design features which whilst they add to the car, make cleaning it a challenge  One of the ones that comes to mind in the A pillars. Where the windscreen meets the pillar there a approx 2cm gap between the glass and pillar. This means you can't get to it with your normal...

Re: Ipod Issues

I tested a usb stick on the MDI today and it worked perfectly, so it's deffo something Ipod related..

I'd like to stick to an ipod though, as it's easier to sync via my iTunes library. I really don't want to start manually setting up folders structures on a USB stick
