2.0 TSI - my new fuel record

521.5 miles from my last tank of fuel - mix of all driving conditions but mainly A roads and I didn't drive slow, just as usual held up behind a few tractors. Really impressed with the performance and economy you get from this engine. Has anyone else got near that?

Re: Adaptive chassis control

Can also tell the difference in mine. Steering is heavier in Sport mode and very light in Comfort, also firms up and softens the ride.

Re: Opinions - which model

Did some sums tonight as I wanted it see if a oil burner would be worth it. So here they are. This is based on 200 miles per week, petrol at 126.7, Diesel at 132.7. the MPG figure were what appear to be what people are reporting getting on day to day, I know its not ideal, but is the best guess I h...

Re: NEW INLET MANIFOLD AT 35000 miles

Hey quick question, my Rocco went in yesterday with same fault code as you've mentioned, the mechanic explained it was the manifold arm that had come away leaving the flaps stuck open, he showed me that he has fixed it permanently to the body to remedy this meaning the flaps remain permanently open...

They shouldn't have told you about the bonus as it's not your issue. Take it back until it's fixed. Good luck

Re: ACC how and when do you use yours??

I normally leave it on normal but if driving faster switch between modes depending on the road surface and corners. The steering in comfort mode is generally a bit too light for anything other than motorway driving. I like the steering in sport but the ride is then too fidgety for most surfaces in m...

Re: Which Scirocco?

I would say you'd be better off with a 2.0TSI as they aren't much less economical than a 1.4 by all accounts. But who knows about values in 2018, it's a long way down the line. A lot can happen between now and then and you might prefer something else.

Re: Mooing from clutch

Hope it's sorted now. You were lucky - including diagnostics mine was away for 3 weeks. A pipe got broken and the part had to be sent over from Germany which took ages. I was in a Nissan Micra for most of that time!

Get one of these and a 32gb USB stick to put your music onto - works a treat

Not normal. You can probably reject the car if they won't fix it (the law says they have to fix within 6 months of buying)

Re: Mooing from clutch

This could be the same fault I had - if so you will need the clutch replacing. You might need video evidence to persuade your dealer, but don't take no for an answer as the law is on your side - they have to fix the car. http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12225" oncl...

Re: "exhaust inlet variable sensor trip" error

Just had the inlet manifold replaced on mine after the yellow engine management light appeared. It's a 4 hour job and VW provided goodwill despite me not buying the car from a franchise dealer. You will need to get the dealer you bought it from to fix themselves or pay for a VW repair.

Re: My scirocco

You haven't said what's wrong with your car. Past 6 months I don't think the law is closed on getting a rejection but you have to prove the problems were there when you bought the car, whereas before that onus is on the dealer. If you don't want to reject the car you have to really know what you wan...

Re: Will having air conditioning on zap power?

With my old Civic Type S, the manual said it used 0.01% extra fuel having the air con on. It didn't zap any power and I certainly didn't notice it was using more fuel. The Rocco seems a bit different - if you go by the trip computer having the air con on reduces the instant consumption by around 10m...

Re: New owner question..

I'm not sure the dealer has done anything wrong. Does 'Bluetooth telephone preparation' actually mean the Bluetooth module is installed, or rather it can be installed in future? My car was listed as having Bluetooth prep and when I tried to connect my phone in the test drive it was evident the car d...

Re: Dealer Advice - Warranty Claim

My radio reception is rubbish and can drop off every now and then. I suspect the same fault but the price is shocking! Hope you get it sorted, most dealers will try anything to get out of a warranty claim. I wouldn't want to be rude, but use your spelling and grammar check when you write to them ;)
