Hi all,
This'll be my first post here and I'll consider myself a very new/recent fan of Scirocco's.
I'm male, 6ft 4, 19 years old and I'm driving a 2005 Ford KA - yes, it's painful.
Unfortunately it's the only car I managed to get my hands on with such high insurance costs for first time drivers, it's in great condition so I couldn't say no.
I've been working for a year and I'll be leaving for uni in September, when I turn 20, with £15k - I don't plan to change cars until I'm back which will be in 2018. I'm working as a Teaching Assistant at the moment and will hopefully leave uni as a qualified teacher, my plans are to come back to the school I work at now as a full-time teacher - hopefully on a starting salary of about £22-25k.
Now, the reason I'm here is not to describe my life but to have a general discussion around what I should be looking for in 4-6 years, possibly after a year or two's work once back from uni.
Assuming I'm still having dreams about driving a Scirocco, what do you guys think prices will be like in 5 years on current Scirocco's (either 2008 model or 2013 Scirocco R)?
I'm thinking a 1.4L 10 plate Scirocco - maybe with about 50-60k miles?
Being my second car I'm hoping I can pick one up at about £6-8k - or is that too optimistic?
All ideas welcome!

Re: Which Scirocco?
I would say you'd be better off with a 2.0TSI as they aren't much less economical than a 1.4 by all accounts. But who knows about values in 2018, it's a long way down the line. A lot can happen between now and then and you might prefer something else.
Re: Which Scirocco?
Appreciate the response, that's good to know about the 2.0. Thanks.

Re: Which Scirocco?
I reckon you will prefer something else by then! By 2018, the new look scirocco would have been well bedded into the market I suspect, so the models now would have dropped heavily in price.
Re: Which Scirocco?
I'm hoping there would be a drop in price. I've always been a fan of Golfs and now Scirocco's - I wouldn't want anything newer by 2018 as it'd probably be far too expensive for me so I'm presuming a Scirocco would be just right.
