Hi, had this problem ... The dealers fitted a new Varta battery under warranty , not had a problem since... according to the late chris, (RW1) Varta batteries are the best! who am i to disagree!!

Hi all , my warranty is due to expire in July, so i an thinking of taking out the VW extended warranty, they have quoted me around £350 for the fully comp one. Just wondering what your thoughts are on this?.. and has anyone had any experience with extended warranty"s good or bad?

Just got back from a road trip to the Lakes and Scotland , went as far north as Fort William . Did almost a 1000 miles , Roco drove a treat, used a tank and a half of Diesel . Happy days indeed!

Had mine in the dealers for an air con fault, i.e. not cooling, they say they need the car for 3 days, to do some wiring mods , i have to say I'm a bit worried about all this, they told my wife they need to remove the dash??

Forgive me if im wrong but Chris"s DVM circuit would be permanently live , and not swiched by the inanition key?

Yes definitely looks like egg damage to me, had it happen to me in a Ford Escort i had a few years ago ...

No they shouldn't do mate..... as long as its still under warranty , if they try it tell em to bog off!!

Feel a lot happier having read your positive reply!.. like i say will keep a note of the battery voltages, Think i'm gonna take the car to Guilders when its due its 3 year service and MOT in july ...

Hi Guys... Just got my car back, been in for 5 days (if you count Saturday and Sunday) They have replaced the battery i now have a 61ah Varta , and they have replaced the main power relay, It seems the Battery was not holding its charge... The relay was the fault that showed up on the Engine control...

Hi all Had the car at the dealers , as the Battery problem was getting worse , had to go out and jump start the car a couple of times at my wife's work .... not good they say they have had the battery on charge all day and its still not full... and they have found a fault on the ECU.... they are kee...
