Same - had it looked it when I got a service but they had no idea what to do.

Update on the wiperblades.co.uk replacements: There is now a very faint smear in heavy rain. It is still a massive improvement over the stock wipers but not quite as good as I first thought.

It worked! No smear at all in the rain today. Worked out at only £12 ish with postage.

Just ordered some for the driver side only so fingers crossed. All the rain recently has pushed me to do something quick. It really is pretty dangerous with a big smear on the windscreen and I'm surprised VW haven't fixed it yet!

With the DVD playing and the car stationary I just press 'i' and then quickly press 'tone'. I hear a blip sound and then I can drive off without the screen turning off - brilliant! Sometimes I had to do it twice as I didn't quite get the timing of the 'tone' button press right but I can do it everyt...

Has everyone that's got voice control working had to use VAGCOM? Do you think a dealer would be able to enable it for me? - it looks really useful.

Don't the remaps cost about £500 and give you ~260hp?! I'll be happy to do this if I want more power so I don't think the new engine is such a big deal.

Just finished updating. After a quick scan through the menus for the new things I can find all of them but one - Voice Control!! I've got the Premium bluetooth phone kit and can control that with voice but I don't see the 'Voice Control' option in the setup menu - http://www.my-gti.com/wp-content/up...

The parts department here haven't seen anything on VW Technical or in the electronic catalogue so hopefully the part #s will help them.

I thought it was excellent! The car looked really good and I agree completely with their (brief) verdict. It is a very well built car but the diesel lacks power - it was the ~130bhp one.

Mines in with the service dept. now. Thought I might as well see what they can do even if others haven't been successful.

When I went to the VW dealer today I mentioned the wipers and they confirmed that VW know about the problem and will be issuing a recall soon.

I'm also going to ask about this when I'm in for a replacement iPod cable later today.

Totally disagree with you on that one greeper. I love the SatNav but I agree that a full postcode search would have been better.

b) yes, it will charge an iPhone 3g.

It definitely doesn't work as is. Might be more hope with the OS 3.0 update for the iPhone but I have tested this with a beta release and it didn't work.

I'm hoping to have a more thorough look at this soon as we make an iPhone app at work so have access to right 'tools'.

badpanda - it didn't list any of the videos I have on my iPhone but I haven't done any extensive testing.
