Rear view Mirror Droop

Post by markjp »

If my car is not used for several days I have noticed the the rear view mirror has drooped and I have to readjust it. I pressume it has got something to so with the recent hot weather.

It appears to be fine at all other times.

Has anyone else experienced this? :fall:

Mines done this from new. The rear view from the mirror is so poor i don't notice any more! It's weird though - when it droops , it only droops to the same level every time ,so I just leave it where it stops.

Just the thread i was looking for today. I have noticed this pretty much since i had the car, but too wasnt sure if i was imagining it or maybe sitting in a slightly different position. But it seems I am not alone.

I havent looked, but is there any way to tighten or adjust the the ball and socket joint on the mirror?
I can rely on my car, it's my Roc!!!

Ha, I just thought I was sitting differently every time I got in the car. Happens on mine as well.

Call me stupid - but on my Golf, every time i get in the car i need to adjust my mirror "like it has drooped".

Infact its because at the beginning of the day (following sleep) you are always an inch or so taller.

In essence i get in the car in the morning, move it up " "because im taller" ". Get in the evening and move it down again, because gravity has done its work on my spine during the day.

The next morning i get in and it starts all over again.

Maybe its a mix of biology and physics as opposed to mechanics?
