Re: Dipped beam on one headlight not working

Used this thread to help me diagnose a faulty near side headlight - bulb went and replaced to no avail, on closer inspection a new bulb holder was required due to melting & damage on the existing one. So for future ref well worth changing if the bulb doesn't help. £7.70 inc VAT from my dealers p...

Re: What alloys/steelies will fit? What do 16" Steels look

I have a set of winter tyres on steels I used them last winter- amazing difference- tyres are Vredstein Snowtracks, got mine thro Openo - must admit they don't look as pretty but who cares when you are sailing past rest of traffic stuck in snow Buy your tyres and wheels now- they cost much more onc...

Re: keyfob issues

Think you can do this with VCDS. However from reading around it it's not for the feint hearted. You might be better off taking it to a dealer

Re: What alloys/steelies will fit?

Worth a look for wheel and tyre sizes http://www.volkswagen-zubehoer.de/fileadmin/pdf/prospekte/2012/WKR_2012_engl.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I tried to ascertain from MyTyres yesterday who actually made their steel wheels as I wanted Alcar KFZ's for my Polo, call ...

Re: What alloys/steelies will fit?

Stopped being a div and checked Roccopedia, although obviously its difficult to know for sure that info is correct. Why are you concerned about who makes the Steelies? Anything I should be worried about? Also, anyone know what a Scirocco looks like with 16" steels and trims, not alloys? about a...

What alloys/steelies will fit? What do 16" Steels look like

Looking at winter tyres; just wondering, how do I know what size alloys or steel wheels will fit a 2009 Scirocco GT 2.0TSi normally fitted with 18"?

Obviously My Tyres etc will recommend some, but I'd love some external validation they're correct!

Re: Weird Floating Feeling Post new rears & front Balance

Have checked the pressures twice, 33psi front-rear.

Doesn't appear to have any play in the wheel nuts, but I'll doublecheck before driving home to be sure. (better safe than sorry on that one!)

Weird Floating Feeling Post new rears & front Balance

So, unfortunately I had a nearside rear flat, requiring two new tyres on the rear of the car (Hankooks fitted). Was getting a bit of vibration at high speeds, had them balance the tyres on the front as well for good measure. However now at speed the whole front of the car feels a bit unstable, like ...

Mine has just done exactly the same thing, 09 plate as well.

Get the feeling these parts get a bit too brittle in the cold weather!

Pleased to report this has been sorted today under goodwill from the purchasing garage, at my local dealer. New clutch & release bearing, and fitting. £800 total cost. Thanks for your help in diagnosing - unfortunately the TPI listed in the other thread had disappeared from the workshop computer...

Might go back to the dealer I bought from an try to claim under SOGA - within the first 6 months - should be fun!

Re: Latest Premium Bluetooth Module

What can those of us with an RCD510 with no bluetooth do? I'm a bit confused by the posts above, some indicate we need RNS, some we need bluetooth prep (how do I tell I have that?)

Cheers for thoughts!

Re: Squeek/Groan from Clutch

Thanks RW1/C

Balls looks like I need to pay for that then as I'm out of warranty. Any ideas on cost?

Also knowing the urgency would be good (i.e. will it suddenly break and leave me stranded?!)

Squeek/Groan from Clutch

Hi All, I'm experiencing what could best be described as a groan when pulling away from stationary in my Roc. Would appear to be the clutch, and it is most likely to happen 1) when engine is cold 2) when slightly more revs than idle are set to help with pulling away. Anyone know if there are any obv...

Re: Option for auto dip passenger mirror?

Aha So I think it wasn't always working as I didn't always have it in passenger side selection! And it wasn't going back because you have to get over 12 MPH. Awesome so that is working then, I suspect. Will confirm tomorrow. Thanks guys! Did notice it corrects/returns when you turn it off and remove...

Option for auto dip passenger mirror?

Hey all, I'm missing my owners manual at the moment - can anyone tell me which option controls the auto dip on the passenger mirror, as it doesn't seem to be on, working at the moment

Re: Aftermarket Warranty

This is why I've asked them to call me back.

However I think you need to buy from a VW dealer or it doesn't work. Local one quoted me £370 for a year.

Anyone know how reliable the 2.0tsi is anyway? Maybe I just shouldn't worry!
