Re: Newbie question about Scirocco alarm
Hmmm... I tested this when I got my car last summer, and found that two presses of the button also disabled the internal monitoring? Case in point was during a hot day I wanted to lock the car but leave the windows slightly open whilst on the drive. To test, I left the windows open then pressed the ...

Re: Genuine Vw screenwash or cheap stuff?
So your saying 1 litre a year? Surly you would use more than that? No - I am saying the car gets serviced and handed back with a full reservoir and a full top up bottle. By the time of the next service, some eight or nine months later I find I still have the top up bottle untouched and the cycle re...

Just to remove myself from this issue - I've located my version of this problem to be caused by Spotify.

Re: RNS510 track name glitch
From further investigation, my issue actually seems related to the iPhone? After falling into the usual situation of the media display showing the incorrect track information to what was playing, I actually looked at my phone and realised this was also incorrect on the lock screen. Therefore this se...

Re: RNS510 track name glitch
I have this exact same issue when using Spotify with my RNS315 - and yes, it's very annoying!
However, I'm using the Bluetooth connection rather than the Media cable - so would the same update be required?
I'll get the file downloaded and see if it improves matters tomorrow

Re: Oh dear...
Are these all manually calculated figures, or what is stated on the display?
I've found (for me at least) that the display is generous by ~4-5 mpg than what you are actually getting.

Re: Scirocco noise generator
These have been around a while (commonly known as a "Soundaktor") and are present on many Audi / VW / BMWs, etc. The commonly seen reasoning from the manufacturer seems to be that the latest models have that good cabin soundproofing, that the driver is no longer feeling "connected&quo...

Re: Tyre Rotation
Working in a one jack system, is there any quicker way to do this other than jack up, front wheel off, spare on, jack down, jack up, back wheel off, front wheel on back, jack down, jack up, spare off, back wheel on front. With just one jack - if you lift it up to the maximum at the front jacking po...

Re: On the red!
I've gone a good 20 miles when the needle is already at zero (i.e. past the red zone) - so there's definitely plenty of fuel in reserve even when you think it's rock bottom.
As others have said though - I wouldn't recommend risking it

That's an amazing deal! I think they'd charge us that amount for each wheel here in the UK

Dare I ask how much you managed to get the Savannah's for? I was looking at getting these before I went for the Roti's and still think about swapping... :\

Re: Scirocco from Singapore!
Nice mate, but if your spending 65 on a scirocco you need your head testing.. haha Singapore applies an exorbitant amount of tax on all car purchases because they have such a small amount of land, and don't want it filled with traffic jams. Think of a basic 3 series BMW costing ~£165k and the Sciro...

Re: ACC switch flashing
I've had my wheels off today and found my front right anti-roll bar wasn't even connected! I can't see the people who changed my springs needing to disconnect this, so wondering if it has never been tightened up properly and has worked itself loose :/ Will have to see if the light stops flashing now...

Re: R Line 170ps MPG/Fuel Range
I'm increasingly envious over some of the figures quoted in this thread - so much so that it makes me wonder if there's something wrong with my car?! Even if I drive ridiculously sensibly for an entire tank (never going above 2000 rpm, etc), then I would still only just scrape 550-600 miles - and th...

Re: Thumping like sound from passenger side
Those tyres are far from low profile - if the tyres were to blame then this would be affecting every standard Scirocco sold with 18" wheels.
Sounds like they're just spouting absolute tosh tbh...

Re: Advice
I wouldn't feel too persuaded into the purchase because of the seemingly low deposit. In my experience they will accept pretty much anything, since taking a small deposit simply means they will make more money from the credit. I assume you'll also be visiting the dealership in person, otherwise nego...

Re: Advice
Sounds like dealer bullshit to me ;) Do not put down a deposit until you have agreed everything (purchase price, APR, etc) otherwise they know they already have you committed (unless prepared to lose your deposit), and therefore don't need to negotiate so hard. I would ask which dealership it's bein...

Re: Advice
Completely agree.
You have to remember that it's also in their interest that they match the APR you could get from a bank, since they will then get another 2k out of you over the term, instead of that money going to the bank...

Re: Advice
Still seems a bit steep to me. You'll effectively be buying the car for £18,500 over 5 years. If you get a bank loan of £14,500, you could be paying £275 per month, and £16,500 overall. I would demand they either match it, or simply get a bank loan and pay for it in cash. Of course the loan APR you ...

Thanks RW1 - this is EXACTLY what I was looking for
I'm planning on taking all the wheels off this weekend anyway to replace the wheel centres and spray the hubs, so will have a thorough investigation at the same time.
The provided images will be a huge help!
