When it went in for it's 10k service a while back, the service guy had assumed I had replaced the fronts as they were at 7mm. I estimate I get about 6k miles per mm

Jetta 1.4 tsi mk6 with Bridgestone potenza re050 doing 17600km or 11000 miles...looking to rotate soon as fronts are at half compared to rears.

Not sure how different the jetta is compared to the scirocco in terms of tyre wear. Routinely hit speeds of 180 kph with deceleration and acceleration between 120 to 200 kph at times between mileage of 10000 km to 16500 km...

With just one jack - if you lift it up to the maximum at the front jacking point, this should also lift the rear of the car off the ground so you can do a straight swap.

Swapped mine this week - after just completing 10,000 miles on my first set of Pirelli P7's. Rears had about 4-5mm remaining, while the fronts only had a 2-3mm remaining, so the swap over should see me through to about 15,000miles.

Funnily enough, just checked mine this weekend.

Fronts are at 5.7mm at the lowest and that's with 14.6k miles on them (and not yet rotated). Rears have about 6.7mm. As I understand it, new tyres have approx 8mm of tread when new, so on that score, I've used approx 29% (or 2.3mm) of the tyre over this mileage. Leaving 1.6mm as a minimum tread (to keep legal), that translates to approx 40k for 6.4mm of wear for the tyres. I'm running the factory Pirelli P7 self sealing tyres.

Pretty impressive for a sports coupé no matter what the engine. Mine has the DSG box, don't know if that should make any difference good or bad ?
