Re: Your 1st winter as a Scirocco owner

For anyone who is just about to enjoy their first winter with a Scirocco, specifically ones that leave their cars parked outside overnight, now would be a good time to invest in a can of 3 in 1 silicon spray (or the like). Give all the rubbers that have any contact with your drivers and passengers ...

Re: To Dsg or Not To Dsg

I love the DSG and for me at least, I can't imagine driving the manual to be half as much fun. It's rapid enough in M mode but stick it into S and it turns into an animal. The blipping of the throttle on the downshifts in S are the iceing on the cake. I agree that the paddles could be bigger though.

Re: SciWrecco

Unlucky mate, i feel for you I really do. However, if it makes you feel any better, my Scirocco was less than an hour old when a kind old soul in a Mitsubishi Pajero reversed into it doing similar damage. It then turned out due to an 'oversight' by his wife he wasn't insured. That said he paid up li...

It's paddles all the way for me. Although to be honest I only tend to use them in sport mode.

I've used etyres.co.uk a few times in the past. I have always found them very competitive and they come to you to fit.

Re: Convenience Menu - Mirror Down

I'm pretty sure you have to have the folding mirrors option. Then you have to leave the rotary switch in the L position.

Re: Slight creak from back end

They told me that everything checked out okay and that although they recognized that the car did creek it was within acceptable limits. Acceptable limits ?? Did they measure this with a creakometer or something. :fall: Yes I know. "Acceptable limits"...the dealer quoted me that twice on t...

Re: Your worst scirocco moment?

My worst moment was on the day I picked it up. With about 4 miles on the clock and an hour old someone reversed into it doing £3500 of damage.
I still feel sick just thinking about it !

Re: Admiral insurance grrrrr

Direct Line are exactly the same. Each year without fail now I get an online quote as soon as I receive my renewal. Then I take out the policy on line and cancel my paper policy. The same applies to their house insurance. I hate Direct Line with a passion but I just can't find anyone that can under...

Re: Funny noise?

Is there anybody with the know-how that is prepared to add some voting buttons or something so we can get an accurate number of people who's cars do or don't make the really annoying rattle ?

Re: Choosing a car is harder than choosing a wife....

Sunroof: Yes. Looks great from the outside and makes the interior much lighter. DSG: Yes. I still can't believe how good it is. Colour: I went for white, yes it's common and it gets dirty quickly but it suits the Scirocco. I think the lighter colours do. IMHO you lose some of the curves with darker ...

Re: What don't you like about your Rocco?

I really hate the dreaded rattling between 2000-3000 rpm and the dodgy wipers.
It's much thirstier than I was expecting too.

Other than that, it's addictive to drive and I'm loving it !
