No sunglasses compartment in centre ceiling console.
Is it me or are others also missing the sunglasses storage compartment next to where the interior lights and sunroof buttons reside?
According to the manual, there should be a compartment but all I have is a clip-on plastic grill. I'm thinking that maybe the sunglasses holder is only available for cars without a sunroof as the sunroof the buttons and wiring take up some. Nevertheless, it's a bit weenie to have such weak design skills that VW can't accomodate 1 button and a small compartment.

I really hate the dreaded rattling between 2000-3000 rpm and the dodgy wipers.
It's much thirstier than I was expecting too.
Other than that, it's addictive to drive and I'm loving it !

I don't like the blue display of the climate control. They could have made it match the driver info system display in white. I LOVE everything else about it though.

Every time I go over a bump or put any kind of twist on the body I hear a rubbing/sqeaking noice from my window.
Drives me mad
ps
any solutions anyone? I tried Silicone Spray on the rubber sealers but it only helped for a day and proceeded to get even worse then it was before the spray.

My broken glovebox
My rattly boot

My stereo that's started switching itself off at random.

I hate the fact that the 170 Tdi was launched a month after I ordered my 140. Expletive deleted!

Re: What don't you like about your Rocco?
I've got the white plastic cog as well, didn't realise it was from the car as my local dealer didn't have a clue what it could be from. I suggested something from the ventilation system to open vents or flaps somewhere but they reckoned not.
Anyone have any inspiration?
The only things that irritate me about the car are the useless coat hook in the back. It only holds one hanger and even that doesn't sit very securely.
The other is the lack of gas struts to support the bonnet, my 8 yr old mk4 golf had them so why not a more modern and expensive car?
Is really shows how much i love the car if these are the only gripes!

Re: What don't you like about your Rocco?
The throttle pedal !
I think I'd have prefered a more "normal" one with the pivot point above like on most cars
And I'd like to be able to see the average fuel consumption over a longer period of time rather than it being reset every time I start the car
And that really is about all I can find ! And I had to dig deep for those !
Damn I love this car

There are two displays for average fuel consumption - one that resests after about 2 hours of the car being turned off and the other that keeps going until you reset it. If you look in the display you'll see that a number of the readings have a little one on the top after the reading, if you press the button on the bottom of the right indicator stalk you can change this to the second reading (with a little number 2). Hope this makes sense!

No not yet. But I've been told to expect it soon. Booked into the dealers to get everything sorted on Monday. I swear my car is haunted!Bushiee wrote:Ive had this, where does it go??wigit wrote:ED you had a white plastic cog fall out of the glovebox by any chance, thats happened to a couple of usEvil Derboy wrote:My broken glovebox
As for where it goes, it's part of the damping mechanism for your glovebox that stops it just bouncing open when you pull the catch.

Re: What don't you like about your Rocco?
Isn't the second counter/display limited to 9999? I remember I read something about in manual and I was annoyed it's not unlimited.
The things I don't like:
-wipers - annoyed me after 5 minutes of collecting the car - rainy day.
-lack of pockets at the back of the front seats. No place inside the car to put an atlas or any other stuff. I had to put everything on the floor at the back. Glove box is too small, pockets in doors too small, maybe phone will fit in or sunglasses.

Now I know why I hadn't found the button on the right hand stalk !!! 'Cos there isn't one !
Glad it wasn't me
Mine's a 2010 model, the "OK" button is now on the steering wheel, I just hadn't seen that it cycled between the counters
Cheers for the clue though

No problems. I haven't got the MFSW so maybe that's the reason for the difference?Nobby wrote:Deacon

I'd like the display on the dash which shows what gear you're in to be larger
buy some smaller sunglasses!
hahahahaa!
I think the glasses storage is more for 'spectacles' rather than any D&G's/Chanel/Diors.
But i am now considering stealing my kid cousins barbie star glasses, thanks!

Re: What don't you like about your Rocco?
Well I'm fairly new to Scirocco Ownership and I'm generally happy.
Only a couple of gripes to date.
1. Interior - They really should have added some uniqueness to the cabin to make it feel a bit different to an EOS/Golf. A few choice changes would have helped i.e. a colour coded transmission tunnel trim i.e. the big of plastic trim where the cup holders etc are located. That colour coded or in gloss silver would have looked ace. Little details make all the difference.
2. The Noise - Far too quiet for a Coupe. VW missed a trick with the Sport Setting. Activating this mode should open a Bypass Flap in the rear exhaust boxes to make it sound a little more throaty/sporty. Similar to systems fitted in Porsche's etc. Should have been standard or at least an Option.
