Re: Well guys, it's nearly time.........
Well spotted mark. According to the pre sales literature, the GTD's callipers were suppost to be painted like the GTI's - but as usual VW UK got this wrong and they were just the natural aluminium colour, and had already started to discolour from use. As my Scirocco calipers looked quite grotty afte...

Re: Well guys, it's neally time.........
Well it's that time now that I officially say goodbye, as the new Golf GTD has now been delivered and my beloved Scirocco is gone. I'd like to thanks everyone who has helped me on this forum and listened to my innate drivel :D I'll pop in from time to time if that's OK, and you never know, if a MK4 ...

It now spring loaded, I.e. flick it once when in D mode, it changes to sport, flick it back again, its back to D mode. I suppose it so that the driver profile modes have the ability to swap between sport and drive modes electronically ?

Looks lovely! :D How long was you waiting from order to now? Ordered it on the 11th April so 5 months - the wait has been torturous. Don't know about the plate transfer as I left this up to the dealer and they said its all electronic these days, so should take no time at all. Car arrived at the dea...

Re: Well guys, it's neally time.........
Wonderful - the exact spec I would buy too - apart from the Adaptive chassis thing - the subtelties of which are lost on me! Whats the yellow plug and black box inside the spare wheel? Thanks guys. Mark, its the cable to the subwoofer that's sitting inside the spare wheel (part of the new Dynaudio ...

Just got to wait for the cherished plate transfer now...........god the wait is killing me. Could be collection an...

Re: Miles per tank
Bloody hell, i'm getting nothing like those figures on my TDI. Typically get about 450-500 miles, and that's about 45-47 litres (aout 45mpg ish). To be fair, my weekly journey is typically mostly urben during the week, and also mine is a DSG which I think is thirstier than the manual, but overall it...

Re: Well, it will soon be time to say goodbye....
Also I should add that over on some of the MK7 Golf forums, it seems to be quite a common thing for Rocco owners to trade up to a new MK7 GTI or GTD, but then trashing the Rocco in the process. Let's be quite clear her, yes I regret not getting a slightly better spec however I do absolutely love the...

Re: Well, it will soon be time to say goodbye....
So what was the price you got in the end for the Golf? Just run your spec through 'Drive the Deal' and got £2,580 discount including a £500 discount for taking VW finance. Drive The Deal Discounted Price: £28,994 I do like the new Golf. Great P/Ex on yours too. Yeah, I know I could have got b...

Well, it will soon be time to say goodbye....
I guys, well yesterday in a fit of impulsiveness, I went ahead and ordered a new MK7 Golf GTD 5 Door DSG. As I'm 50 in June this year, it's an early birthday present for myself. I wasn't really looking to swap out of the Rocco, but I was offered such a cracking deal I just couldn't say no. The funny...

Re: Retrofit company's
Yep. Used them a few years back to upgrade the dash clocks in my MK5 Golf from mid line to highline.Came to my place of work on a Saturday morning armed with the full VW VAS tablet system and a wifi link to the VW headquarters in Wolfsburg. Really nice guys and most importantly did the job 100% perf...

Re: New tyre tread depth
Thanks Bob.
Wow, so in 18,000 miles I've only used 2-3mm. That's much better than I thought I would get. Only got about 12,000 on my MK5 Golf GT TDi with 225/40/18 Goodyear F1 Aymmetrical !

New tyre tread depth
Hi all, this might seem like a strange question, but can anyone with a new Rocco fitted with the Pirelli Self seal 235 x 18" tyres, let me know what the tread depth is from new. I forgot to do it on mine when it was new 2 years ago, and I would just like to check approximately how long I have l...

Re: Quick Easy Question's Need Answering Please
The big update was the 2010 MY (please others correct if wrong). That changed most of the electronics from the older MK5 platform to the newer MK6 platform. This meant White clocks and DIS screen, new style MK6 MFSW (with chrome inserts), and new climate controls with display mirrored on the head un...

Re: Quick Easy Question's Need Answering Please
Rear parking sensors are a popular add on as is Winter pack (headlight washers and heated seats - which I would not now be without). Depending on age, prior to mid 2011 Bluetooth was a cost option (before it became standard), and as Maisbitt stated leather also an option before it became standard (i...

And bigger 312mm front brakes (vs 288mm)
Re: Tyre wear
Still on the first set of OE fitment Pirelli P7 Self Sealing - Approaching 17k miles.
Fronts still have over 5mm, rears about 4.5mm (were swapped fronts to rears at 12,000). Quite pleased really.
