Thanks for your replies guys.
Seems like the punishment is not set in stone, so its a matter of waiting until the 12th and see what fate has in store for me.

Re: Magistrates Court experience?
Hi Tony,
Is the duty solicitor someone who is assigned to you on the day? I haven't been to see anybody for legal advice yet, or plan on taking a solicitor with me.

Re: Magistrates Court experience?
I dont want to attend to make excuses for my speed, there was no reason for it apart from stupidy. If I did lose my licence, it would affect my work as majority of it is field based. I guess I need to attend and just stick to the point without overdoing it. Work are also willing to write a character...

Magistrates Court experience?
All, As the title suggests, has anybody been to a magistrates court for a speeding offence, if so, any advice? I was caught a few months ago doing 63mph in a 30mph zone (stupid i know), but the only thing I have working for me is a clean licence for the past 7 years. I have my summons, and im given ...

Re: MY2010 2.0L TSI - rattle 2000-3000 rpm
It looks like its something you will have to get used to, its a shame VW havent found a fix for it. When my problem occured, I got under the car and bent the heatshield away from the exhaust, which made it a little better. I find the rattle will get louder or quiet depending what angle the car is at...

Re: Rattle from 'wastegate'
Guys, A while back i did a bit of fiddling around with the heatshield under the car, close to the area of the exhaust which goes into the engine bay. As the heatshield was easy to bend, I manouvered it away from the exhaust as I thought this had something to do with it. My ears suggested the noise w...

Re: Running in period
I didnt exactly adhere to the manual..but took it easy for the first 500 miles, maybe reaching 5-6k revs on a few occasions, and then opening up more as i reached the 1000 miles mark I did have to top up my oil once the car reached approx 1000 miles. The car is now on 5500 miles and iv not had to to...

Engine idle noise??
Guys, Took my car to see a mate the other day who just happens to be a mechanic, and he was surprised at the noise the car makes when idling. He describes it as a quick 'knocking, ticking' type of noise. He said hes heard it before on the golf MK5, but was surprised the Scirocco is making such a noi...

Re: Grinding noise from engine..
The fantastic service team(!) at the local dealers took the car for the day and said 'Theres nothing wrong with it' Fair enough, I'll take the car away and just drive around trying to ignore the noise :D Joking aside, i'll take a look at the other thread and see if theres a suggestion as to where to...

Re: Grinding noise from engine..
Im considering not to bother taking it in, as it seems whoever has taken the car in still has the problem. Would rather wait for a proper fix on this rather than guessing by replacing the turbo, exhaust etc

Re: Grinding noise from engine..
So Scotsman, you had a new turbo and a new pipe and it still didnt fix the issue? I would have thought its something to do with the turbo as you dont hear the noise when revving between 2-3k in neutral, only seems to be when driving. Jake - Your are right, no performance issues but the noise i...

Ok so i guess the general trend is that we get very low spec cars no matter what we hand in to get repaired. Thought id see what you guys thought before I gave my local dealer an ear bashing
