Faulty Passenger Side Electric Window - £500 to repair?

HI, The electric window in my Scirocco jammed last week and I had to take it into my local VW dealer to fix it. They replaced the electric motor and regulator but I was shocked at how expensive it was. Has anyone else run into a similar issues as I wasn't expecting a fault electric window to cost ne...

Re: Fancy your GT with a bit of dealer installed .:R

I realise the price is a bit steep but I'm wondering if there might be room for negotiation whilst my cars in being serviced and I do like the idea of making sure everything's still covered by warranty. Tempted by some lowering springs pending what my insurance company say about it! Has anyone had a...

Re: Spec List for the new A8

It's a bland boring rep-mobile IMO. There are much more exciting cars you could buy for £65k+ even if you needed a 5-door saloon (RS4/M3/etc) !

Does nothing for me

Re: New Polo GTI - Scirocco Killer ?

May highly reduce sales of scirocco :/ What do you guys thinks ? It's powered by a 1.4 TSI 180hp engine, with approx the same 0-62 as a 2.0 tsi 200hp DSG Scirocco  Hmmm, nah I dont think it will. I guess it might be ultimately quicker 0-60mph but as others have said that's not the only way t...

Re: 1.4 160PS vs 2.0 210PS

Had a mk5 Golf GTI so would have felt like the car would be a drop in performance from what I was used to if I went for the 160bhp 1.4. That and, as others have said, all the extra options on the GT pack (18s,Climate control, fogs, tints) are boxes that I would have ticked so given that it wasn't muc...

Re: Anyone go to a David Lloyd gym?

It's £75/m for 12 months peak time (slightly cheaper cos I kind of work for the NHS). You can do a 3 month rolling deal (which she didn't seem to want to tell me about but which I knew existed). That's £92/m. I'm quite a keen cyclist but I'll be honest I've not been much out in the last few months ...

Frameless Windows Frozen Shut

As you all know the window in the Scirocco should drop down to let you get into the car when you open it. Except in the last few days this hasnt been happening because of the windows being frozen shut! The door seems to open OK as the rubber appears to give enough for that but it won't close properl...

Re: GTI VS ROC

I've not driven it but I think the GTI looks superb in black with the optional monza shadow wheels. Easy on the options though, the one in my dealer has leather, nav, DSG and a few other bits and the list is over £30k The price is what would really put me off one if I had to sell to Roc to buy a 5-...

Re: R disappointment

At least we both agree that the Scirocco is better than the MK5. I've not seen the MK6 GTi but from the pics it looks nowhere near as good as the Scirocco and seems very poorly spec'd for a £22.5k car. Last time i spec'ed one online to similar levels as my Scirocco it came to over £25k! And for the ...

Re: R disappointment

I owned a Golf V GTI before the scirocco and the only thing that I prefer about the Scirocco is the look and Ill be test driving the Golf GTI VI too at the first opportunity Really? I'd say the opposite if anything :? The Scirocco (IMO) has a better engine, better handling and it much better built ...

Re: Newbie Advice please 1.4Tsi Vs 2.0Tdi?

The multifunction s/wheel might be nice though. Thanks again :-) I'd definitely go for that as an option. I never ordered it on my GOlf GTi (as it was pretty expensive at about £150 IIRC) but I always missed the conveneice of it and the steering wheel looked incomplete without it. It does rub salt ...

Re: Reviews

there is something about sabine schmit........ good outcome too Aye, especially when you consider that the 125 Coupe is about £5k more than the Scirocco. Had a look at one and was semi-tempted but they're too expensive for what they are IMO. That and as Sabine says there's no real debate as to whic...

Re: 2010 model changes

. Now I just have to decide whether to delay my order by another month to get them! There's nothing major on that list but it's probably worth waiting for if you're paying the same price for it just so you've got the newer model (especially if you want Xenons). If however you got the price before t...

Personally I think the IROC concept grill is way over the top and much prefer the production model. Reminds me of the W12 Concept Golf GTI which looked really cool IMO 8)

Re: Revised Scirocco or Computer Generated ?

Yep. It was going to have the Iroc nose treatment but the new head thought it was too aggressive and ordered a redesign partly to soften it and partly to give it a more family VW look. Thank god! The IROC concept grill was hideous! :? Your kidding arent you? the iroc was a gorgeous car! pity they t...

Concept IROC grill or production version - Which is better?

Noticed this topic on another thread and thought I'd pose the question whether people prefer the grill on the IROC concept or the final production Scirocco? Re: Thinking about getting a Scirocco...

Morning guys, I was hoping for more like 30-35mpg is that realistic? I drive a Golf GTi (same 2.0T 200bhp engine as the Scirocco) and average around about 29 mpg with mostly town driving. The Scirocco is a couple of mpg more efficient so even mostly cruising about town you should manage to get 31 m...

Re: Scirroco v TT

I actually much prefer the look of the new Audi TT to the old one. Looks like sleeker and sportier IMO. The main issues I had with it were price and the fact that the rear seats are useless for carrying adult passengers! As others have mentioned it's difficult to compare then when there's around a £...
