Re: What did you do to your Scirocco today?
Service and MOT today as 'Fritz' will be celebrating his 5th birthday next week. He must be doing something right as I've never held on to a car for more than 2 years before, yet here we are at 5 and counting. I guess he deserved a little tlc after our recent 800 mile visit to the Scottish Highlands.

Re: Climatic control Auto Switch function
I might be wrong but I believe it increases the intensity that the fan will operate, with the second setting (right hand side light) being higher fan speeds. The graphic which appears on the touchscreen shows a bigger fan symbol to indicate your selection.

Re: Poor at De-misting?
I have the exact same problem with my MK5 GTI,maybe its a Volswagen thing ???? Agreed. I used to own a mk5 Golf GTi and that was less than brilliant at de-misting. Nowhere near as bad as my Scirocco though. When you consider the poor de-misting and the issues with the windows not dropping/closing i...

Re: Instrument Backlighting
I believe the brightness is controlled by the light sensor. On mine the dash lighting definitely gets much brighter in the sunshine and after dark just the needles are backlit.
No doubt an expert will correct me if I'm talking rubbish (which has been known).

Re: Lexi is due next week!
My previous car was a Golf GTi in Shadow Blue (predecessor of Night Blue) which is very similar. The rarity of that colour on the GTi added to the enjoyment and I'm sure you'll find the same thing with your roc. Mine is black simply because I couldn't convince myself that having the same colour twic...

It looks nice but not £180 nice. Have too agree with comments suggesting it should be standard, or much much cheaper.

Re: Sat Nav Location
I usually stick my Tom Tom to the bottom right corner of the windscreen. Easy to see/hear and operate without obscuring the view ahead. Yes, you have to put up with a cable leading to the power socket but it isn't too bad.

The Polo is bad enough but the Scirocco.....I'm lost for words.
My 2 year old nephew would throw away his crayons and start again if he'd drawn something as poor as that.

Re: What's your best ever MPG
Trip computer showed 44mpg after a 250 mile (mostly motorway) run to Glasgow in my TSI 210. Did a quick calculation when I filled up and reckon it was actually 39-40.

Does the Iroc count? If so, Paris motor show October 2006. If not, a nice shadow blue Scirocco with truffle leather at the October 2008 Paris show.

Mine is slightly off centre too. Its not enough to be an issue for me, so I'm gonna wait and ask the dealer to have a look at it at the first service.

Re: leather seats question
My car was built late last year and has the white stitching on the black leather (same as RW1's in the above pic). Contact VW customer care, they may know of any minor trim changes, but don't hold your breath.

Re: Shadow Blue 2.0 TSI - Ist March
Looking good
. Almost went for shadow blue myself but ended up with black because I didn't want the same colour as the Golf GTi I was swapping from. Maybe wish I had now....
