They were when I owned it! Those pipes were autosoled and dremmelled within an inch of their lives!

Re: Wiper Blades
Yep, that was mine! I bought it from The dub dealer in Canterbury as the car was the cheapest one in the UK by some margin at the time. Local dealers wanted £23K plus for that spec (DSG, roof, leather, winter etc).
Hope it goes to a good home!

Re: Autoglym High Definition Wax
Lifeshine is unnecesary imo, you would be better investing in a pot of wax and topping up every few months. The window bit you mention is good though. It means that you don't get drops of water sitting on any of your windows as it just runs off. Get the pedals and sills! Just use Rainex on th...

Re: Wiper Blades
well I reckon that's the least i've ever lost! Still all relative considering the lack of big deals off the GTI, they give in one hand and take it back in the other. Good dealer though Loders, family owned, seem like they care more than a lot of others, good service from martin in sales and they twe...

Re: Wiper Blades
GOOD NEWS THOUGH: I bought my Roc with 800 miles on it for £21K in November, just traded it with 13200 miles, two low front tyres and needing a service and the book value was £19K, I got close to £20K back. dealer now has it up for sale for £22K. VERY STRONG residual value there! Ahhh so it's YOUR ...

Re: Wiper Blades
Hows the GTI compared to the Scirocco? I just traded my Roc for a mk6 GTI, they are similar cars, what you like and don't like about the scirocco will possibly be reversed in the Golf. Both great cars, similar but different. Golf delivers the power less frantically so feels slower but in reality it...

Re: VAT increase
Also remember that when VAT goes back up, it might be to 18 or 20% as was reported in the news a little while back. Don't assume that it will be just a 2.5% hike.

Re: 3% price increase from September
It is thought that when the VAT goes back up (and it definitely will), it might go to 18-20% not back to 17.5%. The £ has recovered reasonably well against the $ so i'm sure it will perk up against the Euro but what manufacturers do with the prices is anyones guess, I doubt they'll be in a hurry to ...

Re: Autoglym High Definition Wax
Thanks jon, I don't have any garage i'm afraid, large or small! I do access to some covered parking at work so i'll try again in the shade. The Muc-Off shampoo and Wax is still more impressive IMO as I can apply it in sunlight and it comes off a treat. However the Muc-Off wheel cleaner isn't that go...

Re: Autoglym High Definition Wax
Bought some today and am disappointed in comparison to my normal wax (Muc-Off miracle shine). Quick hard to get on the applicator sponge, not too much trouble working in but hard to get off and leaving some white chalky residue. Not worth the money in my book at all, I think a lot of Autoglym stuff ...

Re: Too dark in the back for kids??
I have a ten and an eight year old and they love it in the back but they're either watching a DVD or playing on the DS's. I have a GT TSI all black with leather, tints, etc. It's fine back there and they can see out of the windows with the boosters.

Re: GTI VS ROC
19k isn't bad considering, I wonder what I would get for mine with less than 3k on the clock and all the extras (Sat-Nav included) although having paid top dollar for mine (£27) I would not do as well as you, that's for sure... In regards to the Golf, Agree on practicality of course, but as for the ...

Re: The Need For Speed...
I agree Ryan but when you're going down a quiet stretch of familiar motorway at 2am and there is nothing on the road, it's your chance to see what the car will do. Wouldn't advocate it regularly but i'd also hate to own a car i've never driven flat out......

Even though your change of car is enforced I.E 5 into 4 don't go !! I wouldn't be too upset swopping for a new Gti either. Enjoy it. and congratulations on your impending family addition. :) :) :) Cheers Silver, baby's not due until September but it's always nice to get a new car when the sun is sh...

Re: GTI VS ROC
Does this mean you will have the GTi by the time GTi International comes around. Dunno mate, gave them the deposit over the phone today, they said the car is built in Germany and put on the next truck over, approx 2 weeks. I was pretty unfussed about spec so i'm getting a red 5 door with 18" m...

Re: GTI VS ROC
What I mean is why would anyone look at the Golf GTI over the Scirocco other than as a compromise? There seems to be a growing number of people who see the GTI as the more desireable car and I can't get my head around that. I can't see what actual appeal (other than that of precticality) the Golf GT...

Re: GTI VS ROC
Broadspeed are doing some big discounts on the GTI already, although it is still well overpriced. Well i'm down to the negotiating, dealer says my car books at £19K and in the current climate he should be offering less, I told him in the current climate I shouldn't be thinking of paying anywhere ne...
