Noise when engine is cold
When I turn the ignition on and the engine is cold it sometimes idles at 1200rpm which is a lot higher than the usual 700-800rpm and it makes a weird almost like rattling noise but this tends to last about 20-30 seconds and then it goes back to sounding like the car should, anyone know what it could...

Re: lowering facelift R??
A lot of people on here go for springs and the tend to go for the VWR ones or the H&R ones which both give the perfect drop

Re: 1.4 TSI or Diesel
Diesels are punchy out of the box and have much potential for improvement. Also diesel fuel savings are much better than you'd expect on paper. Having owned a 1.4 122 and experiencing just under 30 mpg around town I can't expect the twin charged unit to be any more efficient. I would strongly recom...

Re: 1.4 122ps understated performance
According to this forum it seems common knowledge that the bhp stats for the 1.4 122ps engine are understated and most will make 130bhp no problems. But along with this is also an understated 0-60 figure of 9.4 seconds. I have timed mine and often managed between 7.8 and 8.2 seconds even to 70mph i...

Interior trims are painted gloss black, much better finish.

Re: Dectane or car-lab drl's
I'm thinking about the same MOD But I'm thinking about the genuine VW LEDs which are on the R, one little snag... Would they fit my 170 TDI? Do all sets of aftermarket ones get the error message ? Will the R ones work and will they have a warning message ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The Dec...

Re: Dectane or car-lab drl's
I do like the look of the dectane one better than the car lab one. We're they just plug and play rafail7? Yes you just remove the bulbs and the plastic clip and plug in the new ones, there is an install guide that comes with them that has step by step instructions with pictures. It is really easy t...

Re: Dectane or car-lab drl's
Can't say much on them as Ive only just fitted my ones 2 days ago but they do look really nice. Ive heard about some not working after a while but that may be because of a factory error or possibly because of something else. These were the ones that I purchased http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00...

Re: RNS510 fitting
it should be plug and play. I suspect you have an RCD510 in your vehicle already? The plugs should be the same. You might need to recode your MFD to display nav info, but this isnt essential if you dont want it Yeah I have the RCD510 atm, Im guessing I still have to add that extra wire for the sat ...

Re: Head unit upgrade or change
Is the switch up to a RNS510 worth it from the RCD? If I'm going to get Bluetooth anyway, I'm thinking the switch up to the RNS would be worth it for the sat nav aswell. Also thinking of cruise control, so all this would be worth getting done at the same time to cut costs on labour. You can fit in ...
