Help! Panoramic roof switch not working

Hi All, Car is due its service this morning and what do you know the panoramic roof switch stops working! When I press it, instead of opening the roof it just makes a clicking sound from the console its housed in. Obviously I can ask VW to take a look at it during the service however I always fear t...

Re: Any ideas on a loud knocking noise from passenger rear s

Strange thing is, I had a snapped coil spring on my Audi TT and I didn't even know it was snapped. Never made any noise, so Im not sure why the Scirocco is different.

Re: Any ideas on a loud knocking noise from passenger rear s

Well Ive just had a call from the garage, apparently its a snapped coil spring. We couldnt initially see this when it was on the ramp as the bit that the spring sits in (technical term) is hard to see into. Thinking about it, I stuck my fingers in there the day before and thought i felt something mo...

Any ideas on a loud knocking noise from passenger rear side?

Driving along as normal when the car started making a harsh metal on metal knocking noise when hitting the smallest of dips and bumps in the road. The noise seems to be coming from the rear passenger side area as far as I can tell. Took it to my local garage who put it on the ramp. Everything seems ...

Re: Are my headlights okay?

No probs :) I originally found the picture somewhere on these forums I think but its easy to find the adjuster. Open up the bonnet and have a look at the top of the affected light cluster unit for a white plastic circle with a hexagon type centre to it. Use a torx screwdriver/allen key to turn it, o...

Re: Are my headlights okay?

Turns out I had time to look at mine last night as the weather was dry. I parked the car facing towards some garage doors which had vertical lines running across them. Straight away I could see that the spike at the top of the affected beam was quite a lot higher than the other side. I lifted the bo...

Re: Another tyre written off

Hit a pot hole with my passenger side 18" which caused an egg shaped bulge in the outer wall of the tyre. I was lucky the alloy wasnt buckled or cracked at the same time. Paid a fortune for a replacement. Started writing a letter to the council but never bothered finishing it as they are not ob...

Re: Are my headlights okay?

Its me who started this thread and I am yet to manually adjust mine. The adjuster dial on the dash makes very little difference (I've adjusted it whilst sitting in traffic watching the reflection of the lights on the car in front). My partner was in our other car a couple of weeks ago and I was driv...

Non Xenon headlight replacement cost?

Hi All,

Does anyone know how much replacement headlight units would cost? Mine are quite marked and was considering replacing them. Obviously I would be using all the existing cabling/bulbs etc. Its literally just the shell with the front glass (plastic?) I actually need.

Cheers,

Re: Are my headlights okay?

Thats okay then, sometimes the passenger headlight is really dim or not visible in reflections, meanwhile the drivers side light is like the eye of Sauron!

Other times they both appear equal, depending on the shape of the back of the car its reflecting off I find.

Re: Thinking about a Diesel Scirocco

Hi :) I have a 170GT TDI (coming from a TT 225) and I have found it to be surprisingly powerful. I would suggest skipping the 140 as you obviously have performance in mind. I'm also finding the 170 good economy wise. I'm very happy with my choice and would definitely say go for it. Tuning wise thoug...

Re: Are my headlights okay?

Does anyone have anymore info on this? I've resorted to turning the lights from auto to sidelights so that the headlights are off during daytime driving. I'm finding it very distracting that every time I see the reflection of my car in another car the drivers sight headlight is really bright but the...

Are my headlights okay?

I have noticed when driving behind other cars that the reflecton of the drivers side headlamp looks bright but the passenger one does not. I assumed that this was because I was seated directly over the drivers side headlamp but today my girlfriend in the passenger seat commented that from her perspe...

Anyone recommend a good numberplate company?

I have just had a pretty bad experience with a number plate company online. Before I chose a different company can anyone offer any recommendations? I have previously used http://www.showplates2go.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and found them to be very good but unfor...

Headlight restoration tips?

Hi All, I have non xenon headlights in my Scirocco which on close inspection have a few stone marks and scratches on the lenses. I know you can get headlight restoration kits however I feel this is a little extreme on such a new car. Has anyone got any tips on products I can use to tidy them up a bi...

Re: Tyre pressures for 18" Interlagos?

Thanks for the replies, I got the sticker off and it said 35. Anyway this is the first time I have checked the tyre pressures since getting the car and one tyre was at 39 and the others were around 37, so I ended up letting air out rather than putting it in.

Tyre pressures for 18" Interlagos?

Hi All,

Can anyone give me the tyre pressures for my 18" interlagos? There is a sticker in the fuel cap that has covered them.

Cheers!

It's the wax. To wash the car I have always used Johnson's Baby Bath which is gentle and give the car a lovely shine before waxing

Sorry for the late reply, its Meguiars Gold Class. Find it nice and easy to apply and remove and it leaves a great finish.

Number plate light out -options?

Just noticed tonight that one of my number plate bulbs are out. Obviously I need to get it sorted ASAP. I know that many on here have swapped the standard bulbs out for LEDS. What are the LEDS of choice on here at the moment? Obviously I want bulbs that are plug and play, won't throw up any errors, ...
