Oil help.
I had my 2011 GT tdi 140 scirocco serviced in January and on the service receipt they've used longlife oil. I'm doing a long drive tomorrow and checked the levels this morning and the oil is a bit low. I've looked in the manual and it says that VW 507 00 is used with both longlife and without longli...

Re: 40k servicing.
Do you reckon it's worth having the major or just getting an oil change service done?

Re: 40k servicing.
I've just spoke to the stealers and the girl on the reception reckons at 40k, it requires a major service? This is £289! What's actually done on a major service? I know it needs a DSG service regardless and it's getting booked in for Jan, I just don't want spanking for nearly 300 quid for something ...

Re: 40k servicing.
Fuel filter also gets changed.at 40 k miles on the diesels Also garages send our letters every year on the off vhance. You can check on the car's service interval counter when it's due it's next service. On newer cars it's a menu within the MFD and on older cars you press and hold the trip reset an...

Re: 40k servicing.
A 40k service should just be an Oil Change, as 30k is the Inspection. DSG Service is £179.99 at my dealer, and Oil Change is either £129, or £149. Every 3 years the Major Service (Inspection) is carried out. I've just had a look in my service book and the 3rd service is ticked as an inspection serv...

40k servicing.
I'm coming up to 40k on my 2011 gt tdi 140.
Can anyone give me an idea of the servicing costs at 40k and also the cost of the DSG service?
Also is there any actual difference between this 40k service and the previous 3?
Thanks

Re: Wheel vibration
Just been and had both fronts re-balanced. One of them has a slight flat spot on it where it's impacted.
I'm taking it to diamond wheels in Stockport.
Does anyone have any experience with this firm?

Re: Wheel vibration
I'm going to try and get to a kwik fit tomorrow and see if it is a case of wheel weights require re-fitting.
Would they be able to tell me if it's buckled does anyone know?

Re: Wheel vibration
Thanks gents.
If it is buckled what are the options? I seem to remember someone saying they had theirs unbuckled by a wheel repairer.

Wheel vibration
I'm after a bit of advice.
I hit a pot hole the other day with the drivers front wheel. Since the there's been a slight vibration through the wheel. I don't think it's buckled though. I think it could need re balancing or at worst just some wheel alignment action?
Thoughts?

This has probably been answered on here already but I can't find it.
Have VW brought out a new lead for use with the lightning connector found on the 5/5s?
If not what are people using instead?

Rear wheel noise.
I've noticed lately a strange noise coming from the rear of the car when on the motorway. It's like a rumbling noise. Someone said sawtoothing, I've had a look and the tyre wear seems even so I don't think it can be that? Anyone had anything similar? I'm thinking warped discs or failed bearing? I'm ...

Re: Touch up paint.
Cheers for the advice.
I had a go at doing it this afternoon. Doesn't look too bad. Although it does look very slightly darker, hopefully it'll settle when it hardens?

Touch up paint.
After washing and waxing my candy white rocco this afternoon I noticed a nasty stone chip on the bonnet. I'm off to the TPS tomorrow to get a touch up kit, my question is, will I have to remove the wax in the area I need to touch up or could the paint be applied over the wax? Also what would remove ...

Re: Noisy DSG
If it's normal, how come it's only just started and I've had the car since new ?Le Clue wrote:That clunk from neutral to drive or reverse is normal...it's just the locking mechanism.
It can be prevented: when you park your car put the DSG in N, pull up the handbrake and then put it in P..

I've got it booked in for this Saturday.
Regardless of what they say there is clearly an issue with it as I've never heard it before until yesterday!

Dealer diagnostics
My Rocco is still under warranty and has developed a few rattles.
I'm wondering do dealers charge for looking for a fault? For example if they look and can't find one would I get charged?

Noisy DSG
I've had my 2011 gt tdi Rocco since new and not once have I noticed any form of mechanical noise when going between N & D.
This evening though its developed a distinct clunk when disengaging and engaging between N & D.
Has anyone experienced this?
