Oil help.

Post by Red201 »

I had my 2011 GT tdi 140 scirocco serviced in January and on the service receipt they've used longlife oil.

I'm doing a long drive tomorrow and checked the levels this morning and the oil is a bit low.

I've looked in the manual and it says that VW 507 00 is used with both longlife and without longlife?

So what's the difference? I've googled VW 507 00 and a number of oils meet this spec but are they suitable for use with the longlife that's in use?

Should be OK to mix if the same spec - 5W30 and meets 507. I personally use Castrol Edge 5w30 FST. OK for petrol and diesel on long life service.

Any 5w30 oil that meets VW504.00/VW507.00 meets the requirements for longlife servicing.
