Re: DAB radio

It wouldn't be the deciding factor as to which car to buy, but now mine is fixed, I love it.

Radio is my driving entertainment of choice though, so it gets some use.

Re: Tall drivers

I'm 6'6 and can drive the car comfortably. I advise caution with the pano roof though. I test drove one with the pano roof and found that with my driving position, I could feel the edge of the recess on the back of my head. I have had NO problems with the standard roof. As for getting in and out of ...

Re: Poor Radio Reception

Hi My understanding is that it is at the rear of the car, as the dealer mentioned it was over a half day of a day job and the back of the car may need taking apart. Looking at the car when I got it back though, this hadn't happened. I got a call from the technician doing the work, checking I was hap...

Re: Poor Radio Reception

Hi cajpaj I'll try get a picture tomorrow for you. I;ve not even bothered with FM since I got my DAB fixed so don't even know myself whether it's any better. I have spoken to someone at VW Customer Care about the hassle I've had, they were good to talk to, very helpful. If you continue to have probl...

Re: Poor Radio Reception

I urge anyone with DAB problems to insist that their chosen dealer submits a technical query to VW. My local dealer failed to do this twice, I took the car back to the supplying dealer who were more than happy to help. My car (built June/July 09) had erratic DAB signal and the FM signal was mono mos...

Re: The unmarked Police Car thread

Round Leeds I've seen:

Grey 5 series
plenty of silver/grey astras and vectras
dark blue astras.
Also seen a Vauxhall Signum but can't remember colour, think it was dark blue

Re: what difference will 3 points make to my insurance?

Don't worry, won't make any difference, just make sure you tell them (including your current insurer) 1st "minor" offences (speeding, parking, traffic lights etc) are generally not penalised, some say it could make you a safer risk as you've had a wake up call. If you get additional points...

Re: Angry with VW!!

What has annoyed me is that after reading the Scirocco's price list it state that 4 X 18'' Interlagos wheels with tyres and anti-theft locking nuts is £400. However parts department want £322 + VAT for ONE ALLOY!!! Absolutely disgusting.... Don't even try to tell me its cheaper to fit at the factor...

Re: Cruise Control - Factory Fit or Retailer Fit?

New MFD? Do you mean the MY2010 changes or has there been another update to the MFD since then

I only ask, as I paid for factory fit, and mine doesn't show the speed on the display, just the green light behind the dial. (unless I need to read the manual to turn this feature on)

Re: DAB signal issue

My reception is terrible

I live and do most of my driving in west yorkshire and find that it switches to FM several times every journey.

Anyone else have experience around Leeds? Is yours a 2010 car?

I'm beginning to think that the move of the aerial may have been a mistake

The wait is over

I got the call on Monday to say my car had arrived and was ready for collection after Wednesday. Couldn't collect on Wednesday due to work commitments, so arranged to collect yesterday. My dealer had offered me £2000 part ex for my 2002 Mk iv golf tdi which was a little under what I had hoped for bu...

Re: Lead time

My dealer called me yesterday and advised me to expect another 6 weeks until mine is in the country so I can't understand why you are being told to wait so long, or why others have received theirs much earlier.

Might give them a call tomorrow and try find out what's happening

Does anybody on here know how to do/get hold of this?

Re: Time between order and being told build week

Cheers This is my first new car and I have a suspicion of all car dealers so just wanted reassuting that all is OK. To be honest, it didnt matter much to me when it was being built, as long as it was delivered to me by the date which they said it would. You're right, it doesn't matter, but this wait...
