I got the call on Monday to say my car had arrived and was ready for collection after Wednesday.
Couldn't collect on Wednesday due to work commitments, so arranged to collect yesterday.
My dealer had offered me £2000 part ex for my 2002 Mk iv golf tdi which was a little under what I had hoped for but was acceptable as it had nearly 140k on the clock, and I'd got a good discount on the Roc.
I've never fancied the idea of selling privately so just on the off chance, I booked an appointment with webuyanycar.com, at their base in Leeds (within carcraft). A small adjustment was made to the online price (which I expected) and I walked away with a contract for them to pay me £2300 directly into my bank the following day, which they duly did.
Igot a lift to the showroom last night and there she was, all shiny and new.
Salesman went through the controls etc (didn't even need prompting for the ipod cable) and I was away for a very steady 50 mile journey on the motorway. Took her out for a (steady) blast on some local roads later in the evening and so far am very impressed. WIll try and put a few more miles on her this weekend.
Lastly, a big thank you to Scott at Gilders VW in Rotherham for what has been a simple and pain free process.
Right...time to change the profile to "I drive a..."
