Oil leak and under shield
I seem to have sprung an oil leack since my first service (not happy) having had a quick look it looks like the sump plug (even more angry a main dealer can't get that right!). I did notice that I was short on an under shield, having not looked before can someone confirm I should have a plastic tray...

Re: Adaptive chassis control issue (help needed)
SELL IT! After banging a new car it will never be the same, whoever repairs it, even if it is reshelled. If you are lucky it will just be rattles and squeaks, if you aren't you will be back reguarly for things to be fixed.

Re: Funny noise?
I borrowed my old bosses brand new A5 with the same engine... guess what, it makes the same noise, but is harder to hear has it has more sound damping and a different exhaust.
Mine has got much quieter with age. My proffesional view is its not a problem.

Re: Grinding noise from engine..
I think the noise is from the area you describe... However, mine is louder when hot and under load so it is very difficult to prove (safely). Re: Wiper Blades
I found a solution.... Clean windscreen, cover in RainX, do not use wipers (driving fast helps shed water better)... repeat often until VW gets ass in gear and find fix.

Had mine on the ramp trying to find it too! Failed, it only makes a noise under load with some boost on, the exhaust is not the same as the gti and my dealer thinks that's where the noise comes from...

Re: How you finding the Roc for stonechips?
My mrs said it was my drivin that caused all my stone chips, glad it ain't just me! 'rocco ain't as tough to mk4 golf in same colour. I buy light coloured cars 'coz the chips don't show so bad.

Re: Scirroco isn't coming..
Don't think it was simple... Dealer sorted out the registration paperwork from chassis no, insurance was off the registration number and I think he took the tax disk with him, Pre Delivery Inspecton was done at the factory. Never asked what was done about paying for it, I think the dealer took payme...

Re: Scirroco isn't coming..
Didn't know we actually had the option to go and pick our cars up from the factory..could actually be fun.. Not something the dealers offer... but if you ask! The dealer might not know about it either as not many people do it. There is a a big customer collection centre at the factory and many Germ...

Re: Grinding noise from engine..
Courtesy car is a minimum, and don't get fobbed off with a polo. They will have a Golf GTI and a 'Rocco on there Demo fleet (unless they are a very small outfit)... If you are not happy with the first dealer, try another one, they do vary in service levels and knowledge. Insist on taking a 'tech' ou...

Re: Scirroco isn't coming..
I had to wait 4 weeks after build. My old man went to the factory to pick his VW up ( not a 'Rocco) and said it was well worth the experience... which I had listened to him and flown to Germany to get mine!

Mine is taking a hammering already, 1500M and 4 big chips on the bonnet! And to make it worse I have been so careful to keep my distance to avoid the 'becasue its new'.

Re: Grinding noise from engine..
Mine went to the dealer today for something that sounds similar, I was not the first to raise the same issue. Rattle at ~3k from the turbo/exhaust , worse when car is hot and under load in high gear. The Demo made the same noise, I took it out to be convinced. Its a resonance in the exhaust that the...

Re: Bluetooth Handsfree
I had a Fiscon system fitted by Brisn at sales@carfi.co.uk. Its not cheap but taps into the touch screen, mfd (dial, phon book etc) and works with the steering wheel controls. As a bonus it reads the CANBUS to give you a display of: Speed, Oil temp, Water temp, boost pressure, voltage and rpm on the...
