Hi got a faulty boot light, works more often nay than yay, looks like a faulty earth connection as its getting power ok. Does anyone know of a particular problem area with the wiring?

I'll answer this myself :) Doesnt take long to fit and the part was only £20 from VW. Remove screw inside flap near where flap locks. Pull flap out, can be a bit stiff (watch the paintwork), remove inside carpet trim, unplug actuator, poke out the grommet, pull old actuator cable through from the ou...

I have no idea, jmb retrofits did it. The main beam isnt right, takes two pushes and pulls of the stalk to get flash on and off instead of just the one push/pull. Jonathon who fitted the CC said the wee white part inside the stalk was in the wrong position which was why i had the battery disconnecte...

Had disconnected and reconnected the battery whilst checking main beam fault after cruise retrofit and now the coming home lights have stopped working even though the settings show they are working. Can disconnecting the battery change the way things are coded in the car?

Sorry was just reading the post again, does the value to be changed always go up by one? How do you know what to change it to? Sorry, the coding thing is new to me. Also, what if the guy doesnt have a note of the previous settings?

Well thats the cruise control fitted and it works a treat. Jonathon at jmb retrofits really knows his stuff, cannot recommend him enough. He fits loads of other things as well and his prices are very competitive. Would definitely use him again. However he is now having to charge about 350 for cruise...

The noise goes away sometimes when the aircon is put on but it can stikl make the noise when the heater is off. Stopped at a garage to ask a VW mechanic to listen as it had gotten quite bad. Naturally the noise disappeared when he listened. Unbelievable but typical
