Battery disconnected now CH lights dont work

Post by joolz27 »

Had disconnected and reconnected the battery whilst checking main beam fault after cruise retrofit and now the coming home lights have stopped working even though the settings show they are working. Can disconnecting the battery change the way things are coded in the car?

Obvious but is your light switch on "auto" and was it dark when you tried them?

Have you checked the settings on MFD?

Funny you should have this problem as mine stopped working recently too. My lights would come on when unlocking the car and the setting was displayed on the mfd with the time set to 60 secs. When I realised it had stopped working I looked but the coming home feature was no longer listed as an option on the mfd.

I can't remember when this happened but I recently updated my version of vcds and have noticed strange settings when running a scan. There are new options and some are already selected. One in particular is listed as Passat CC only for energy saving and it was already ticked.

When you checked your lights or when cruise was installed did you use this latest version of vcds?

I have no idea, jmb retrofits did it. The main beam isnt right, takes two pushes and pulls of the stalk to get flash on and off instead of just the one push/pull. Jonathon who fitted the CC said the wee white part inside the stalk was in the wrong position which was why i had the battery disconnected to strip it down and check it but the stalk is fine and ive been told the coding is wrong. I have been waiting 2 days on jonathon getting back to me about the settings but it can take a week or 2 for him to get back to you. Then discovered tonight the CH lights arent working but MFD settings say it is set to come on but they dont. It would rip your knittin
