Re: Rocco R, 20 years old. Manual, mistake?

I have opted for the manual gearbox although. I never test drove the DSG, but thinking and reading about it now i feel i may have made a mistake getting manual over DSG as the DSG offers better performance and i do a lot of city driving also (Birmingham) Congrats on getting the R :) DSG, you really...

Do a quick search on the forum about Tensioner issues with the TSi. Just something to be aware of.

Re: Cold Start Chatter, DMF issue?

The car's been stood for 8 hours today so I'd consider this to be a cold start....

Flick the key and it purrs like a kitten with no sign of any noise at all :?

Gearbox chatter, normal sound on a cold morning start?...I'm lost :? :fall:

Cold Start Chatter, DMF issue?

Hiya Guys, Noticed a strange chatter which sounds like its coming from the gearbox. It's only after a cold morning start and the chatter is intermittent and goes completely once warm. Bit of searching suggest a possible DMF issue but I'm not confidence cos the majority that have this issue have a co...

Re: 2010 2.0 TFSI needs a new engine

This timing chain dilemma is one of the reasons I didn't purchase a 2.0 TFSI... :grumpy: Nothing is guaranteed with anything you buy, I know that, but a known defect with the tensioner which could go at any moment despite age/mileage/service history would worry me, and I could do without it. Hope ev...

Re: Paranoid

Unfortunately you just can’t avoid the paranoia or the dings... The irony being I purposefully parked far away in a remote section of the car park to avoid car dings etc.. But you could of parked right next to the entrance and it would have been fine! That's what I think sometimes and its luc...

Re: Scirocco 08/09 and 2010+ question

Yeah I can respect peoples opinion about the interior but my opinion was based on the following, 1) When you buy a car, you generally don't immediately think about the resale value or even consider selling it..........Its your new baby!! Hmmm..must just be me then, but I always think of the potenti...

than a drive that seems like it struggling....... I find it depends on the road. There's always a round-a-bout with a slight incline that I drive to work every day.... the car always goes straight to 6th which is a pain but it's partially down to me feathering the accelerate so i've adjusted my dri...

Re: Irritating DSG

a rush to get into 5th or 6th - mine changes into 6th at 40mph, and then seems like the engine is lugging...... Putting it into Sport is too much for a day to day drive - it doesn't change until nearly 4000 rpm. Is this normal, and how does everyone else with the DSG 6 gearbox drive theirs ?.. haha...

Engine could have come from stolen/recovered registered breaker where the ID number has been removed. Should have documentation to back this up from the breaker, i think.. Not sure if the DVLA like you re-stamping the number that's why you're given the paperwork  Does sound fishy a...

Been driving Manual all my 'driving life' so going to DSG was a bit strange but always wanted one. 8) Honestly, i'm still not 100% sure I like it at the moment......To me, I feel slightly detached from the car.. :( like i'm not in full control even in Manual as the box will still drop down a gear if...

Re: Door Sills

It's crazy they don't come with vw door sills fitted already in my opinion!!! Was surprised too, looks like they forgot to add them. :grumpy: Leaving the sills exposed is asking for trouble and will no doubt pick up scratches.... I too will be purchasing these, once I can access the link that is!.....
