Re: Out with the old, In with the new
I have just ordered a Cayman aswell, build date for me is 2nd April. I went for a Cayman rather than the S as my journeys are mostly town driving so the 2.7 engine is plenty quick enough! I see you went for white, very nice colour! It took me 3 hours to decide on Agate Grey Going to miss my R, but I...

Re: How fast is an R?
You won't be disappointed! Its quick!
Test drove a 2014 Cayman 2.7 two days ago and my R felt quicker than the porsche but I think this was just due to the different power delivery as the speedo was still climbing just as rapid as the R

Re: R or GT
Had my DSG R a year next month, I use it mainly for town driving with a few 50mph roads thrown in and I get around about 27 - 29mpg depending how I drive it... Best i've had is 33 mpg after filling up and doing a motorway journey. Costs around £65 to fill it up (I fill up when trip computer says 50 ...
Re: Dsg Clunk
Thanks guys, tried this morning before and after work and it seemed fine.
Re: Dsg Clunk
Don't recall ever using P without the handbrake first. It just seems odd that it only happens every now and again. It doesnt happen everytime i put it in drive. It seems to happen after being in P for atleast 20-30 seconds before it will do it again.
Re: Dsg Clunk
Thanks for the explanation, I opened the door earlier and hung my head out the door to listen underneath and it is at the back of the engine from what I can hear.
So its normal?
So its normal?
Re: Dsg Clunk
Sure its not the DSG parking lock when its mechanism that locks the differential or is unlocking? C. Ha, You've lost me there  All I can tell you is it seems to happen if I leave it in Park for more than about 30 seconds then move it in to drive in one swoop without stopping at R or N. Or if...
Dsg Clunk
Hi, Had my car since new (March 2012 and its done 5300 miles) I'm sure the sound i am hearing has been present for a while but am curious if it is normal or not. Its a DSG R, car is in Park I go from park to D or R to D and then is a small clunk from under the car but it sounds more of a clicky - cl...

Re: Is the R better than the GT ???
I never had a GT, but I own an R...granted I don't do many miles but I drive it everyday and fill up 2 maybe 3 times a month at £75 to fill up...only other expense really is the Tax every year? Not that expensive really but like I said I never owned a GT so not sure how it compares.

Re: Iron-x and Chrome tailpipe question
Tailpipies arn't THAT bad but they still dont look clean. I hate looking at a frsshly washed car with tailpipes that dont look like they have been cleaned!
Should I use wire wool on them? or would that scratch them?
I'll try the above thanks for the replies!
