Driving on it from stocksfield all the way to Darlington every now and then in both directions but normally see the black scirocco around about Newton Aycliffe heading north.

Yeah I've seen a couple around. See a black one on the A68 quite often! Maybe yours selleym? Aye I think so!

Had exactly the same thing happen to mine a few months back, thought abit more dramatically as the water pump decided to explode dumping my coolent all over the road. Least your was covered by warrenty as mine cost be £400 to put right which was far better than the £1800 VW wanted!

All fixed :)also turns out that there was a bracket, some bolts and some clips for hoses missing! I found out about the bolts when I looked under the car the other day but did not expect other things to be missing! Thinking I may be giving the garage a used a call...

Will keep that in mind for future services, least it gets the labour costs down.

The scirocco decided to dump all of its coolant today :( I've had the underside of the car off which was covered in the stuff and have not been able to spot any cracks/damage to any pipes. It should lock when the car is locked. I've have had it stick shut when can be a pain which some GT85 sorts out but should not stay unlocked.

That's a bummer, that should be covered under warranty if the dealership gave you one. I was given 3 months with mine for free so you will prob have something similar!

If you don't mind a small drive give Vasstech a call. I'd imagine they would not charge too much if you can't find someone with a VAGCOM unit!

I'd imagine it would. It just requires the valve to go into a position over its max limit and it will flag up. I am unsure if 10 reg models had the slightly redesigned inlet manifold fitted.

They were going too but by the time the VW would have got around to doing it it would not have been worth it. Would have took them a week and a half to have it done! Spoke to VW UK and it sounds like they are possibly willing to put so much towards it but only if Lookers VW do (which I doubt) but I will see what they come back with.
