not a dsg model. first 2 pictures are the drivers (right hand side) of the car. first picture is inside the car looking up from the foot well after removing some plastic trim.
Second picture is in the engine bay, just below the brake master cylinder

Re: Please help me on how to get through the firewall please
When I retrofit zenon's and a host of other bits I used the standard routes from the engine bay into the cabin of the car....however it is really hard to see them. There are 2 routes, one on each side of the car, the first is right under the brake master cylinder and virtually impossible to see from...

Re: Facelift xenon retrofit (AFS, dyn. & static cornering)
Do you still have the old headlight leveling switch? (The one next to the dash illumination adjustment). I replaced mine with the Xenon version (which doesn't have the rotatory dial), minor detail and probably has no impact but always nice to have everything as it would have been originally.

Re: Body control module for facelift xenon headlights
I've converted a standard halogen to pre-facelift bi-xenon not the facelift version however. I upgraded from the standard 086 bcm to 5K0937087H add washers and afs (my car already had DCC so afs was easy). Being the older xenons I have the vertical leveling via AFS but not the active cornering - but...

Re: Air Con no longer working...
Sounds odd, it should be a simple matter of removing the 3 bolts around the outside and the center fixing and it should come off, maybe try some leverage from 2 sides at the same time.
This is what my old compressor looks like with it removed

Re: Air Con no longer working...
Also worthwhile checking that the compressor pulley is still correctly attached - I've had 2 fail.
Check the bolt/screw in the center is there and tight, if its not there then you have a problem, if its there and with the engine running its not spinning you have a problem.

Re: Anyone DIY retrofitted rear parking sensors???
Hi there...sorry "O/S" - Off Side (the side of the car furthest from the curb).
This is the best photo I could find, taken from in the boot (rear of the car to the right)
I've circled the buzzer in red (it is just above the rear seat belt)

Re: Anyone DIY retrofitted rear parking sensors???
Mine is located on the O/S (RHD) drivers side (UK) rear C pillar, so if you have removed your headlining it is possible the cable has been knocked.

Aircon compressor fix
Thought I but together a guide for those who have a problem with their aircon and a possible cause and solution that won't cost the earth to fix. This is a little bit of a ramble as it goes through the whole process but the key is that if you have the same issue I did you can skip several steps and ...

Wheel spin...
This is not about what you might think it's going to be from the subject heading.... I had to do some work on the car today, which included replacing all brake pads, front and rear. The job is really ease by the way and I had no issues. However I noticed that when I jacked up the front wheels so the...

Re: Scratch to headlight lens
be careful with sanding the headlights, I tried a 3m repair kit and yes it did kind of work, but what I hadn't realized is that there is a UV coating on the lens and I ended up sanding the whole lens as it became blotchy as I removed the uv coating.

Re: 59 plate 2.0 TDI 170 bhp problem Help please!
With respect to the "ebay" engine option, you should get at least a couple of months guarantee (which is more than you got with the car bought from a private seller) and also you can get the log book updated by the DVLA with the new engine number if you can supply receipts of purchase.

Re: No display on RNS 510 satnav system - please help
I had this on mine, did a bit of searching and several sites suggested a lose cable inside (I took it apart - nothing), other sites suggested a firmware update could fix (did firmware upgrade - nothing), finally got to new main board required at a repair centre (can't remember which one but there ar...
