Re: Snow Chains
Kwik fit are about to start an offer on winter tyres on Monday (apparently!). I'm defo going to get some. I live in the North East and we've currently got 8" of snow and the Roc's pretty much been in hibernation for the past couple of days. Felt quite peed off when I got stuck trying to get ont...

Re: Faulty alloy wheels
Thanks, will do that asap. It's snowing here in the North East so the Roc may well be going into hibernation for a while.

Re: Faulty alloy wheels
The alloy that's faulty has no damage caused by my fabulous parking (!!!!!)..the lacquer's bubbling. Apparently it's a common problem with Eos and Passats but they've not seen many Roc's with the problem. Just a bit concerned that if the same thing happens on one of the wheels I've damaged (not near...

Faulty alloy wheels
Has anyone else had problems with faulty alloy wheels? I've got a problem with one...the dealer's replacing it under warranty. I asked if the same would apply if I had problems with the other 3. They said VW will not replace alloys that have been damaged by the owner (I reversed into a kerb when the...
Re: service??
p.s. the car had done 9800 miles and the service message was on.
Re: service??
Mine's on a variable service interval. The dealer asked what kind of driving I do..motoroway/inner city. I do a mix of both so he suggested that was the variable option was best. My car's 1 yr old next week and it was serviced about 2 months ago. After phoning round a couple of dealers and a bit of ...

wipers....again!
Has anyone else heard a little rumour that VW are saying the wiper fault is sporadic and they're suggesting it's a dealer issue? I've heard that they're suggesting that the wiper smear's due to whatever fluids the dealer's are using to clean/shine the cars with pre-collection. Think it's a pretty la...

Re: Adaptive chassis control issue (help needed)
Ooooooo...that's one poorly Roc! Mine was in an accident about 9 months ago (the car was 3 weeks old)...the accident wasn't my fault...although it's just gone to court cos the little sh**e who hit me's denying it. Anyway...I had damage to the drivers side. It cost about £2500 to fix (the insurance p...

Re: Slight creak from back end
Maisbitt...mine had the same prob. Took it to the dealer on Scotswood Road and they fixed it...took them a day and a trip out with the mechanic to point out the noise. They tightened the boot lock and refitted some of the boot interior. They were really helpful. So far, no noise! Hope this helps.

Re: Wiper Blades
I agree with the bloke from the North East...I live there too and nearly crashed when we had torrential rain a couple of weeks ago cos I couldn't see!...grr!!!! I can see a bit better when I adjust the driver seat into the highest position but it's not comfortable to drive...I'm quite tall and my he...

Re: Wiper Blades
Have been told by dealer that VW have acknowledged there is a fault with the Roc's wipers and that VW are looking for a solution....anyone heard anything else about this?

Re: Cars in with VW again
What did you use to stop the sticking window seals?...mine are really bad...thinking of having a trip to the dealer. Bit embarrasing when everyone turns their head to see what the noise is when you take the key out the ignition!!!

Re: Paint issues
I've got the same problem with paint (it's Supaguarded)...rising blue. I washed the car yesterday (with all the Supaguard stuff) and noticed that quite a few new scratches appeared. I've had metallic and pearlescent paint on previous cars (blue and silver..not VW's) and not had problems with scratch...

Re: Problems with MDI and iPod
I've had the similar probs with my iPod. It seems to charge ok but it occasionally says it's not connected (when it is!). Also had a bizarre prob with it last week...tried to skip a track using the steering wheel controls and it went mad...started scrolling through all the tracks on the iPod then di...
