2ltr tsi is way to go no 1.4 problems and no stinky diesel, motorway 70 to 80mph 40mpg easy to obtain

2ltr 210bhp is a very good engine stage one is all you need unless you really want to waste money for little return

Sorry to hear your problem, if it were me think I would find a recommended recon engine installer, time and money spent trying to repair your engine that probably needs new pistons ect would probably be much more expensive

From what I can make out you can generally hear a rattle on startup if its going, apart from a catastrophic failure of course, perhaps best option is to insure against failure, mine is approaching 40,000 with no problems 2011, cant help with dsg but would go with vw recommendations mileage or time i...

Shame but it needs a new model I will keep mine the original 2gt was better without the cheap looking stick on side skirts, just needs lowering a classic

The reason they're often de-tuned is to cope with higher temperatures in hotter climates, climates who are higher and have thinner air, poorer fuel quality in other countries, repeatability, and also for emissions reasons. Remaps are a very cheap way of upgrading a car sure you will enjoy the extra grunt, yrs ago similar bhp gains would have cost thousands to achieve

Get the work done elsewhere that dealership actions are disgusting, so why give them more money, car should have had all servicing done before sale

Every petrol engine will produce carbon its a natural process, that's why you endup with poor injector spray pattern ect, wish it was true but we are where we are

True petrol treatments wont help inlet valve buildup but it will keep injectors clean and help cylinder head buildup, I use BG44K once a year and can highly recommend, see utube for inlet cleaning, I use Liqui Moly valve cleaner mixed with petrol

Not got a dsg but 1250 revs is very low for 5th most cars tic over at 1000 revs, so assume box cannot make its mind up to drop a couple of cogs
