Hi Guys,
Just found out my car has been stolen this morning.
I've contacted insurance and police.
I live in South East London.
Does anyone know what the chances are of it being recovered or found?
Would be sad to leave you guys as it's unlikely I will be replacing the stolen vehicle.

Hi Guys,
Just to let you know that my vehicle has been found and recovered by the police.
Please may I ask for advice on how to keep it more secure? I understand steering locks are a waste of time & money so don't know what else I can consider.
I hope to get some useful suggestions from you guys.
Thanks
Jayroc

If they managed to steal it without a key, and it's not keyless...then they would have started it / cloned a key via the diagnostic port, a way to stop that is rewire it so the connections are in a different place and then make an adapter to 'switch' them back around when you use the port...alternatively just pull out a couple of the wires from the back of the port connector, tape them off and only stick them back in when you need to take car to dealers or use the port.jayroc wrote:Hi Guys,

If it's keyless your pretty much screwed regardless (see todays news on key cloning)

Put a microswitch somewhere in the k-line going to the diagnostic port in a difficult place, only have to switch it on when using the diagnostic port.

get an ADR tracker installed - car will be immobilised unless your key is used to start it and can be tracked in case someone got ur key and got away with in the car

The police told me that once stolen and recovered, it's very unlikely they will come near the vehicle again!
Do you guys agree?

Re: Scirocco stolen & AXA CAR INSURANCE
Hi Guys,
Just wanted to warn you all about AXA CAR INSURANCE as I'm having a very bad experience with them following the claim to repair damage to my vehicle.
They are not a decent company and will do everything possible to avoid paying out a claim. They will just keep asking you for more Questions the more documents you fill for them.
I suggest you stay clear of this undesirable company as there are better alternatives.
Cheaper premiums does not always mean a better or a reasonable company!!!
