If you don’t get any loss of power this is normal for a Scirocco R, as these have bigger turbos than all the other model variants. R’s have K04 Turbos, all other models have a smaller K03. It will be a mixture of turbo spool noise and air getting pushed through the air filter.

The ECO map sounds like snake oil to me. Different maps can alter a few things. Ignition timing, fuel injection and boost pressure. Haha yes I have to say French roads are far better then the uk! I was mainly filling up on the French motorways which is more expensive then towns but it was mostly around 170.4 P/L
