Old Veeduber, new to Sciroccos!

Post by Flying Custard »

After owning many VW's; MK1,2&3 Golf GTi's and two Lupo GTi's I've gone and spoilt myself with a Scirocco R :-D

Picked it up on Friday and it's filthy already having driven it at every opportunity! The DSG is spectacular, means it can be a cruiser and a comfy traffic sitter or rip your face off as its relentlessly torquey.

Sheffield based; any other Rocco owners in the area?

Air brakes for getting you down from 155mph. So that's why it has a button for the hatch

Looks like it wont be long before we can arrange a Sheffield meet and go for a little spin in the countryside.. I know a few nice roads out towards the Snake and up towards Fox House.. ;)

First sunny weekend.. if we get one..

Hi John,

Yeah, we usually stop first at the Ladybower Inn for a quick glass of shandy (coughs), and take it from there.. Then find somewhere for a spot of lunch..dunno if it will be a Saturday or a Sunday so I`ll pop a quick post on here, so just have a check back when the weather starts to pick up (and the road temperatures do) ! I`ll warn you now, It will be a drop everything and head out kinda thing..

I`ll introduce you to our own little "mini Nurburgring" that we found ;-)

Great fun playing with all the bikers on their death machines.. ;-)

Well up for this when it gets sunny, only debate I'll have to have with myself is weather to take the R or my very own death machine!?

haha !!

I just KNEW as soon as I`d put that down about the "death machines", somebody would parp up lol.. just knew it !! Nowt like a little bait for the hook..

Spose you have a big decision to make.. Bring the bike to lead the way maybe? or join the Roc parade ? Guess there`s worse choices in life !!!

You probably already know, but I daresay the bike will have the R`s on the straights.. but R`s will be all over the bikes ar** on the bends ;)

All good fun either way as long as there`s a safe stopping distance involved and speed limits are adhered to. (very important) !!

Should be a good day, we`ll see how many peeps turn up.. maybe one or two from further afield may arrive, or even a few of the curious lurkers from this forum..(like I used to be).. the more the merrier I guess..

Greets all !

I said I`d put a quick post on here if any arrangements were made to go out for a little jaunt in the R..
well, said arrangements have been made :) Just spoke to my co-driver and she`s up for a small journey. Probably not one of those "let`s waste a full tank of fuel" days, but the plans are at least to grab a few hours. Tomorrow, Saturday 20th April.. midday (or so) @ The Ladybower Inn.

Maybe see a few of you there hopefully :)
