Dropped my car off at kidlington vw last night and asked the service department I was dealing with about it being dropped. He said we haven't heard anything about it being dropped and are still taking orders.

So had a phone call from vw telling me it's due a service etc. And cambelt. They have said it's £484 including water pump fitted.

So its been a while since I posted last. My car is coming up to its 5th birthday. And i recently received a call from vw saying it's due a service. I'm sure I read somewhere that the cr170 is due a cambelt change at 5 years or a certain mileage. Whichever comes 1st. Now am i right in thinking that? ...

The best tar remover is Autosmart Tardis. You can buy it from Ebay as long as you buy from trusted sellers. Best bet is your Autosmart rep. From what I know and heard yes it is. But it's only available in 5 litre cans. So if you only need a little bit no point buying 5 litres. There is other brands...

That's exactly what it does it leaves a black oily mark when you rub it hard Reckon I be able to get from halfords?? Yep don't do it. Makes it look worse than just a black dot. I know Halfords stock autoglym and they make a tar remover. How good it is I don't know. But got to be better than nothing

Definitely tar. Don't pick it off with nail or whatever because it will leave a black oil like mark . Can only get rid of with either a clay bar or tar remover. It's tar. So driving on fresh tarmac would cause it.
