Re: Cambelt change advise
VW UK recommend it's done every 5 years irrespective of mileage however, the factory service schedule just refers to mileage, 140k miles and no reference to age.
Personally for peace of mind I would change it at 5 years and did so on my car.

I paid £399 at my local dealer back in 2016 for cambelt, tensioner and water pump.

That’s great there is a local VW/Skoda/Audi specialised here in York got to be cheaper than dealership. Is it a full day job? Thinking if I may need to book day off

As far as I'm aware the water pump is driven by the cambelt on the diesel engine.Wozza_York wrote:Hi I have had a quote from VW and they quoted me for just the cambelt it’s self as the water pump is not belt driven? Is this right?
